Bai Yun was a devoted novel fan. One day, he was lured in by a novel called Deep Water, then captivated by its twists and turns. Just as he was completely engrossed, the author announced that they'd won the lottery and were quitting!
He'd spent money, and now the story was on hiatus. He thought things couldn't get any worse, but in the blink of an eye, he transmigrated into the novel.

System: Hello, Host. I'm System 567.
Bai Yun (apprehensively): Hello, hello. I'm Bai Yun.
System: Your mission is to advance the romance between the protagonist and his love interest, and help them live happily together! Once you complete the mission, you can go home!
Bai Yun (eyes sparkling): No problem. Leave it to me!
But he never imagined he'd become the novel's sleazy, perverted landlord and peeping Tom, who gets killed by the protagonist's love interest before the third chapter is over.
Bai Yun's heart sank in an instant.
What a mess.
To avoid getting killed by the protagonist's love interest before his mission even began, Bai Yun set about frantically earning his good opinion.
When the protagonist got hurt, he put medicine on the wound. When he got hungry, Bai Yun cooked for him. Wherever the protagonist went, Bai Yun followed, determined to become his most loyal and trusted friend!
But things didn't go quite as planned.

Bai Yun (alarmed): What are you doing?
Something was very wrong. Why was he pinned to the bed? Why was the protagonist's love interest sitting on his waist? And how had things gotten to this point?!
This couldn't be right!
The protagonist's love interest pried open his lips and kissed him passionately. Eyes red, he asked, "Are you planning to shirk your responsibility?"
No, what responsibility was he supposed to take? This was practically the forcible abduction of an innocent man!
Bai Yun (questioning his life choices): Then what about my mission?!
The protagonist's love interest: Forget that stupid mission. Think about me.
He said, "Bai Yun, I'm hard."
Bai Yun: Σ( ° △ °|||)︴
The System's alarm blared in his ear: Mission completion at 90 percent, mission completion at 80 percent, mission completion at 70 percent... mission completion at zero.
After assessment, the likelihood of completing the mission is infinitesimally close to zero.
Congratulations, Host. Mission failed.
