After getting blackout drunk at a company outing, a good young man from the 21st century opened his eyes in a beautiful, secluded place. There wasn't another soul around, except for an old man in coarse cloth, slowly paddling a little bamboo raft down a nearby stream.
Song Yi looked down at the same sort of ragged cotton-padded clothes he was wearing. "? What does this mean? Did I transmigrate?"
Later, he wandered along the mountain path in a daze. First he passed through a stone tunnel just wide enough for one person. Then the view suddenly opened up, revealing men and women, old and young, all living peacefully in this secluded place.
An older woman came over. "Young man, where are you from?"
Song Yi was completely bewildered. "Where is this? And who are you?"
The older woman launched into an explanation. "Our ancestors came here to escape the turmoil of war, finding refuge in this place cut off from the outside world..."
The more Song Yi listened, the more confused he became.
Wait a minute. Why did this sound more and more like the story of "The Peach Blossom Spring" from his high school textbooks?
Eventually, Song Yi realized that he had transmigrated into ancient prose he had studied in Chinese class. Even worse, he had transmigrated into horror versions of those classics...
For example, the older woman in front of him, who had been speaking kindly, suddenly smiled wider and wider until a steady stream of blood flowed from the corners of her mouth. Song Yi: I suffered enough from rote memorization in high school. Why do I have to go through all this?
Works that may appear include "The Peach Blossom Spring," "A Record of Xiangji Pavilion," "Inscription on a Humble Abode," "On the Horse," and "A Record of Little Stone Pool." (Haven't decided on the rest yet.)
