A story about meeting in Dali, falling in love in Yunnan, and forgetting each other in Beijing.
Meng Xu visits Dali and meets a man who is exactly his type. Deep down, he secretly hopes something special will happen between them.
Later, Meng Xu does get to know him. They explore Dali's streets, lakes, and mountains side by side, and leave the traces of their adventures together on the wind.
But every trip must eventually come to an end.
Meng Xu raises a hand and gives him a hug, his voice as carefree as the wind. “If fate wills it, we'll meet again.”
Meng Xu originally thought this encounter, which began in Dali, would be sealed away in that city along with the clouds over Cangshan and the waves of Erhai. But the instant he opens his front door after returning to Beijing, he finds himself staring into those familiar eyes.
Even more unexpected, his vacation fling is the son his stepmother brought with her, his younger brother in name only.
In the middle of the night, his younger brother walks right into his room uninvited, pins Meng Xu to the bed, and bites hard into his fair neck. Putting on an aggrieved face, he accuses him: “Why are you pretending not to know me, big brother? Are you going to seduce me and then abandon me?”
Meng Xu pushes him away, consumed with regret. “If I'd known you were my brother, I wouldn't have given you the time of day.”
Hearing this, Liang Qiuchi says unhappily, “Then who do you want to flirt with, big brother? Is anyone else as handsome as me? Is anyone else as much fun?”
I loved it. It was brief, but please don't regret it.
