The Fox I Picked Up Is My Archrival, the Movie Queen

"Ye Mingshu, you'll never beat me in this lifetime."

Backstage at an award ceremony, Ruan Xingci's haughty, nonchalant manner made Ye Mingshu want to kill her.

Determined to beat Ruan Xingci, Ye Mingshu rushed to the most spiritually efficacious temple she could find, praying for just one win.

But when she opened her eyes, she saw a snow-white fox, round as a snowball, rubbing its soft little body against her ankle.

Ye Mingshu reached out to pet it, and a weakness of Ruan Xingci's suddenly appeared above the fox's head! Ye Mingshu perked right up.

"So Ruan Xingci can't handle bitter things?" The next day, she brought over an espresso and said with a beaming smile, "Teacher Ruan, would you care to try the coffee I made myself?"

"She's allergic to lilies?" At the production's opening ceremony, she cheerfully ordered a whole truckload of lilies to be brought in. "Only lilies are worthy of Teacher Ruan."

"Having her ears touched makes her legs go weak?" Amid the clinking glasses at the wrap party, Ye Mingshu used a toast as an excuse to approach, then brushed her fingertips over the other's earlobe, taking her revenge in the most subtle way.

Then, one rainy night, she tucked the fox into bed with her. But the weight on her body suddenly grew heavier.

Her cute, soft, sweet fox had turned into Ruan Xingci, that big bad wolf!

Even as Ruan Xingci pinned Ye Mingshu down, leaving her unable to move, Ye Mingshu was still furious that she'd been thoroughly played.

"You beat me, so aren't you going to take your prize home?"

Ruan Xingci was clearly saying that she herself was the winner's prize!

Only later did Ye Mingshu discover that the temple she'd gone to such lengths to climb was a temple dedicated to the Matchmaker God.

Damn it! Was this what she meant by winning?

Still, Ruan Xingci was so delicious that Ye Mingshu obediently brought a huge pile of offerings to repay her vow.

Year after year, all I wish for is to have you by my side.
