After Emperor Wu of Han Heard My Thoughts from the Start

Lin Yu transmigrated.

She became an ordinary palace maid in the harem of Emperor Wu of Han.

The good news: She served Wei Zifu.

The bad news: Wei Zifu wasn't empress yet, and her eventual fate was tragic.

There were no toilets or air conditioning in ancient times. As a lowly palace maid, Lin Yu could neither eat nor sleep well, and eventually, in a fit of frustration, she gave up trying.

There was nothing wrong with lazing around like a salted fish and waiting to die, but for some reason, the important people around her started looking at her more and more strangely.

After Wei Zifu became empress, she treated Lin Yu like her own little sister. She wanted Lin Yu with her for every meal, nap, and bit of fun, and generously shared half of every reward she received.

Emperor Wu of Han, busy with state affairs day and night, came to the Jiaofang Palace every few days, specifically requesting Lin Yu to attend him and asking whether she supported a campaign against the Xiongnu.

And then there were Wei Qing and Huo Qubing, the most formidable uncle-and-nephew duo. Whenever he had a moment, Wei Qing would ask her about medical problems, while Huo Qubing wanted to discuss battlefield tactics with her eight hundred times a day.

Lin Yu: ? Are you people for real?

In the fourth year of Yuanshuo, the Xiongnu repeatedly raided the borders of the Han Empire. Every day, the court argued bitterly over whether to fight them. The emperor was on edge and went looking for Wei Zifu, his comforting confidante, only to stumble upon a shocking secret hidden in the harem

[So this is Liu Che, Emperor Wu of Han? He looks pretty decent, but what a total jerk.]

Liu Che: ?

[Fight the Xiongnu? What's so hard about that? Wei Qing and Huo Qubing will wipe them out.]

[Huo Qubing nearly destroyed the Xiongnu completely!]

Liu Che: !!!

After learning the secret of her inner thoughts, Liu Che summoned Wei Qing and Huo Qubing to the palace that very night, and ordered a palace maid named Lin Yu to attend them

[Wow! Wei Qing! Wow! Huo Qubing!]

Uncle and nephew: ??

[These are the legendary Twin Stars of the Han Empire, alive and right in front of me! I can't believe I got to see Wei Qing and Huo Qubing with my own eyes: one as steady as a mountain, securing the realm, the other swift as the wind, trampling the Wolf's Lair. I can die happy now!]

Uncle and nephew: ...

[It's a shame that young General Huo died in his prime at just twenty-three. After General Wei Qing died too, Emperor Wu went completely off the rails. He kept losing battles and only knew how to kill people left and right. Wei Zifu and Crown Prince Liu Ju both died too. How tragic...]

Liu Che: !!

Uncle and nephew: !!!

Wha-t did you say?!!

Theme: I love China.
