But life is unpredictable. The Ying family suddenly fell from power, and the protagonist's love interest looked down on Ying Qingye, so he sent his mute servant off in his place in the wedding sedan.

Yan Jianxiao had been ready to accept his fate when the original story's plot suddenly appeared before his eyes. As it turned out, the Dragon-Aotian was only pretending to be weak. One day, he would take back everything that was his!

All Yan Jianxiao had to do was follow the Dragon-Aotian through the plot and reach the ending, where they could divorce.

Ying Qingye transmigrated from the modern world into the body of the Dragon-Aotian in a broken-engagement novel. After growing up properly to the age of eighteen, he waited for his future wife to agree to break off their engagement and deliver those iconic lines of mockery.

That would activate his "broken-engagement Dragon-Aotian" identity, letting him kick aside cannon fodder and climb to the top.

But on his wedding night, all Ying Qingye got was a mute little substitute bride looking at him with beautiful eyes.

The little mute was beautiful and adorable. There was no way he seemed capable of mocking Ying Qingye.

With his hopes dashed, Ying Qingye had no choice but to strive anew. But no matter! Loving your wife will get you back to the top!

So he went all out to cure his wife's voice, only to discover that his wife was a man.

After his identity was discovered, Yan Jianxiao thought Ying Qingye would kill him or divorce him.

But the opposite happened. Ying Qingye treated him very well, and even his cultivation steadily improved.
