[Harry Potter] The Porcelain Doll from China Grows Melons in the Wizarding World

#What if The Chosen One had been raised by Sirius from the start? What kind of person would he have become?

If you asked the students at Hogwarts, "Who is Hua Cen?" they might exchange glances before giving you completely different answers.

Some students would say she was a strange foreign import, a delicate porcelain doll with a hard-to-pronounce name. Pretty cute.

Others would say, "She's a loong!" A ferocious dragon-blooded killer, a magnificent magical creature!

One professor would call her a well-behaved student, a good girl who studied hard and bowed her head to admit her mistakes.

Another professor, who preferred to remain anonymous, would snarl, "Why should she admit she was wrong? It's because she's always making mistakes! That stubborn little monster never learns!"

And Harry would give a small smile, dimples showing. "She's my little sister."

A flower of the Goddess of Fortune, lost in the mortal world.

Hua Cen never knew she was born in a foreign country until a snowy owl that had flown across the ocean crashed into her window, flapping its wings frantically.

She became a new student at a... magic school, with special permission to start late.

Life in a foreign land was terribly hard, especially in Britain's culinary wasteland.

The little girl expressionlessly carried a 1.3-meter Tang sword, crossing her arms as she watched the magical plants, crying and screaming as they pulled themselves out of the soil and moved house. Then she happily planted row after row of scallions, ginger, and garlic.

She'd had enough of baked potatoes and fish and chips.

But one professor had also had enough of her.

"Hua Cen, stop."

"It smells fishy? That's how potions are supposed to smell... Take your seasonings away from the cauldron!"
