[Demon Slayer] RETURN

A man who died young at twenty-five is chosen by the Holy Grail.

His memories devoured, his obsession rewritten, his origin corrupted.

Summoned and used, all he remembers is that slaying demons is his "mission."

But what is a demon? What is a human?

In battle after battle, he keeps losing himself

until one day-

amid a girl's prayer and the bloodlust of Naraku,

he smells something sickeningly familiar.

It is the source of the demons, and the end of his own road.

He awakens once more in an age untouched by light.

He has returned to Mount Fujikasane, with an un-rusted Nichirin Blade on his back.

Dreams and reality intertwine, memories and fate overlap-

He sees the boy who died young, himself still alive, and the trial that never ended.

A second chance at life.

Yet he still remembers the smell of death.

He still remembers the night he could never bring himself to cut off.

And now, fate has yet to write its ending.

The water still flows, the blade is still in his hand, and evil has yet to be vanquished.

He sets out once more on the path of demon slaying.

A big mash-up of works by ufotable. The protagonist is Giyu Tomioka. No CP. If you insist, then it's probably a group-pampering fic. Ship anyone you like, but don't argue or randomly declare any so-called canon couples. There are no romantic plotlines in this story.

Giyu won't cry at the drop of a hat, fall into depression, despise himself, waver, act stupid, or feel inferior. The plot will have him lacking emotion, but that doesn't mean he'll turn into an idiot. He'll simply become a demon-slaying machine who isn't good with words and is incredibly dangerous.

This story doesn't deny Giyu's talent or his status as a strong fighter.

This is a practice piece, and I can't guarantee a regular update schedule. I started it purely to get back into the feel of writing after a long break, so I'm a little rusty.
