The Whole Distillery Is Shipping Me and My Partner

As one of the White Tower's rare guides, Jing Guang never expected to be sent out as an undercover agent.

But once he'd accepted the mission, he was determined to do it well. Jing Guang worked hard to erase all his habits, sink into the darkness, and prepare himself for a life with no return.

But...

No one told him that being undercover would mean selling his looks, too!

He looked at his expressionless partner, then at the mission documents on the table, and gave a helpless, resigned look.

In short, during the undercover mission, he formed a shallow mental link with his partner, Rye.

He thought he could end the link and return to being single once the mission was over.

Vermouth: Scotland, you and Rye haven't divorced yet, have you? Take care of this mission first.

Gin: Has Rye managed to control his wandering mind? Get him over here to cover us.

Rum: You two should infiltrate the banquet as a married couple.

Even the Boss: Scotland and Rye have a mental link? Maybe we could ask Sherry...

Scotland: ...

Scotland: Is there really no other sentinel-guide in the Organization with a mental link?

Rye silently takes out the marriage registration form he'd prepared. "If we're going to pretend, we might as well do it properly. Scotland, come sign."

Many years later, sitting in the Kudo house, Subaru Okiya turns the plain silver ring on his finger and tells the curious little detective, "Yes, I really am married."

The man looks gloomy, his voice low, and Conan falls silent for a moment.

That night, someone climbs in through the window and points a gun at Subaru Okiya's forehead. "Have you been telling people I'm dead again?"

The man kisses the hand holding the gun. "I'm staking my claim for everyone to see."
