Shen Zhuo had a childhood friend named Liu Xiao.

Pei Qinghuai once rescued a boy in the Demonic Realm. The boy came from an immortal sect, possessed a natural immortal bone, and had once enjoyed limitless glory before being betrayed by a villain and ending up there.

Pei Qinghuai was born and raised in the Demon Abyss, but had always longed to cultivate immortality. He did everything he could to help the boy escape the Demonic Realm, hoping that once the young immortal returned to his sect, he might help Pei Qinghuai shed his demonic bones and embark on the path of cultivation.

And so began his life in the Demon Abyss, raising a ball of demonic mist: mending the little demon seed's hammock, braiding his hair, making him lanterns... and teaching him to cultivate immortality.

Back at his sect, his fellow disciples told him that Pei Qinghuai was his love tribulation. To overcome it, he would have to sever their ill-fated bond.

The immortals all said that Pei Qinghuai was born a demon seed, an evil fiend, and a heretic. The Xie family was the foremost sect among the immortals, and should take responsibility for protecting the world by eliminating him.

Xie Chenkong couldn't understand what they were talking about.

Until one day, he had a dream.

In the dream, a group of people regarded his sect as a demonic cult and called him the Demon Lord.

His senior brother stood against him, at daggers drawn and utterly incompatible. He even led the immortal sects to destroy Pei Qinghuai's stronghold and take his life.

Pei Qinghuai woke up and looked at his senior brother, Xie Chenkong. They had been promised to each other before they were born, had grown up together, and Xie Chenkong had just had his way with him until he couldn't speak a complete sentence. Pei Qinghuai felt something might be very wrong.
