Ming You, a martial arts prodigy, has one major problem: her friends are far too fragile. One punch and they’re down, demanding that she pay their medical bills.
Her mother, Ming Tang, says disdainfully, “I can’t afford to raise a money-devouring beast like you anymore. Your deadbeat dad’s family came looking for you. They want to take you back to become some kind of heir to the Zenin family. I hear they’re loaded, so go make trouble for them instead!”
Ming You gets it immediately. “Mom, just wait. Your precious little darling will inherit the family fortune, run off with the money, and come back to take care of you!”
Only after arriving at the Zenin family in Japan does Ming You realize that the little animals she could summon as a child were the Zenin family’s inherited technique, the Ten Shadows Technique.
The only problem is that those little animals are too fragile. When she encounters an enemy, she usually just rolls up her sleeves and fights herself. Her Ten Shadows shikigami, like the Divine Dogs, are there to wag their tails and cheer her on.
Known in Japan as Zenin Ming You, she can barely stand living with the Zenin family after just a few days. The place reeks of feudal garbage, and even inheriting the family fortune isn’t worth putting up with it for a second.
So she runs off to study at Tokyo Jujutsu High.
On her first day, Teacher Yaga asks her to spar with two handsome male classmates as a placement test.
Ming You asks nervously, “If I knock you two flat, you won’t go crying to your parents, will you? And you won’t try to make me pay your medical bills, right?” What if the head of the Zenin family decides her medical bills are too expensive and won’t let her inherit the fortune?
White-haired, sunglasses-wearing Gojo: “?”
Black-haired Geto, with bangs: “?”
1. The heroine is mixed-race and has a tiny bit of Zenin blood, though it’s very distant. She grew up in China and only wants to inherit the Zenin family fortune, run off with the money, and return home to care for her mother.
2. The heroine is a battle maniac and martial arts expert. She can kill with a flower petal or a leaf, and after reinforcing herself with cursed energy, she’s the kind of close-combat powerhouse who can defeat Toji, the Heavenly Restriction tyrant, with martial arts. While the Ten Shadows shikigami are being trained in the early stages, their job is to wag their tails and cheer on their master as she beats her enemies to a pulp.
3. The pairing is with Satoru Gojo. Before he learns Reverse Cursed Technique, he isn’t strong enough yet and gets pummeled by the heroine. Later, after he learns Reverse Cursed Technique and Domain Expansion, they become evenly matched.
4. When the heroine runs off with the money, she’ll also drag Gojo back to China with her. Gojo will take the Chinese name Ming Wu. [The whole reason I started writing this was to kidnap Satoru and get him away from this awful jujutsu world, so he won’t have to endure so much malice!]
Mini-scene 1:
Click to watch the Gojo family break down and weep as their Six Eyes prodigy is abducted by the Zenin heir, changes his surname, and becomes a citizen of another country. They vow to fight the Zenin family to the death.
The Zenin family, made destitute by their heir running off with the money and reduced to making cursed tools, weeps bitterly: “Even if Gojo changes his surname and marries into the family, he still won’t be called Zenin Satoru! The Zenin family has been wronged!”
The Chinese jujutsu world quietly celebrates having gained two of the strongest: “What do the Gojo family’s prodigy and the Zenin family’s heir have to do with our precious Ming You and Ming Wu?”
Mini-scene 2:
Geto: “Satoru, do you like Ming You?”
Gojo: “I see! So the reason I always thought the way Xiao You beats me up looked so cool and beautiful is that I like her? Great, I’m going to confess right now!”
After Gojo and Ming You fight fiercely and destroy half the school, Gojo suddenly confesses.
Ming You, satisfied after a good fight, thinks it over briefly and accepts. “Once you’re my partner, we’ll fight three times a day, every day! We can throw in a midnight snack fight now and then, too.”
Gojo: “Deal!”
Ming You: “Satoru, want to run away with me?”
Gojo: “Yes! Let’s elope!”
