What's it like to be emperor of an interstellar empire?
Clarence: Thanks for asking. It sucks. I want to abdicate.
Anmiya: No, Your Majesty, you don't.
-
Clarence Capet-Philes, later known as Clarence I, was still on some remote planet in the empire, staring wide-eyed at the scrawny boy his eldest brother Claire had brought along.
"Who are you?" Clarence had a bad feeling about this. This brat seemed like trouble.
"...My name is Anmiya." Anmiya gave Clarence, who was watching him warily, a casual glance and replied coolly.
Clarence was furious. He thought Anmiya was looking down on him!
And so began the long war between Clarence and Anmiya. They fought each other, never yielding in word or deed... Everyone thought there was no way they could ever accept each other.
Then one day, to everyone's surprise, the two suddenly started talking like normal people!
Some night before that, Clarence had been summoned to the study by the old count. When he came out, his eyes were red.
When Anmiya fished Clarence out of the bushes in the garden, Clarence suddenly looked up and stared straight at him, choking back tears as he said, "Anmiya, I don't know how to be a count, and I don't want to be one!"
For reasons he couldn't explain, Anmiya was bewitched into saying, "...I'll help you, as long as you're willing to trust me."
-
Many years later.
"Where's the chancellor?" Clarence, furious at the utterly nonsensical paperwork, asked his AI butler in a foul mood.
"The chancellor went to meet with the Interstellar Alliance envoy on your behalf." The AI butler spoke in a completely emotionless mechanical voice.
"Did he say when he'd be back?" Clarence took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.
"I'm back now, Your Majesty." In the distance, Anmiya, who had just finished a banquet, walked into the palace with the faintest smile and came to Clarence's desk.
"Ah! Chancellor, I really don't know how to be emperor, and I don't want to be emperor..." Clarence stood up and threw himself straight into Anmiya's arms, burying his face in the crook of his neck.
"You've worked hard, Your Majesty. How about I help you..." Anmiya's smile deepened as he reached out and stroked the emperor's soft hair.
"Oh? And how are you going to help me?" The emperor grew interested and rubbed his hair against Anmiya's shoulder and neck. It tickled a little.
"You lie down on the bed, and then I'll..."
"Stop, stop, stop! I haven't finished reading my paperwork!"
"What are you thinking, Your Majesty? I meant you should lie down and take a nap while I read the paperwork."
"..."
Possible warning points / notes:
1. Incoherent logic, ridiculous plot, and childish writing.
2. A plot that will satisfy no one, plus the author's preferences and dark sense of humor unleashed in full.
3. No guarantee this will be to everyone's taste. If you're extremely particular, don't read it. The writing is childish and the logic is dead. If you can't keep reading, I sincerely apologize; feel free to leave.
