Will You Date Me Today, Childhood Friend?

[Gentle, melancholy heroine VS sunny hero]

Ruan Zhixia's life had been dark since she was seven.

Her father drank and beat her. Her mother fled with her younger brother, leaving her behind.

The more obedient and sensible she tried to be, the harder her father hit her.

He also blamed her for her mother running away with her brother, as if her very existence were a mistake.

She grew used to curling up in a corner, staying silent, and enduring pain, until Ji Lin came along.

Ji Lin was the boy next door, fair-skinned and bright-eyed, his eyes shining like stars.

He was terrified of her father, trembling all over, yet still stood in front of her and said in his childish voice, "You can't hit Sister Zhixia!"

From then on, he became the only light in her life.

He secretly brought her food, clumsily helped her apply medicine, and took her hand. "Sister Zhixia, I'll protect you."

They went to school together and grew up together. Like a little sun, he warmed her bit by bit.
