This book is temporarily on hiatus. I'm very sorry, readers. I feel my writing isn't good enough to continue. The plot, character profiles, outline, and later developments have all been planned, but I can't seem to make progress on the actual prose. I plan to come back and revise the book after my writing improves.
A retired powerhouse with absurd combat skills x a foul-mouthed, unserious, battle-crazed squad leader
After the last "Calamity" ended, Zhu Qingyu chose to disappear under an assumed name. She opened a little noodle shop downstairs in a residential complex and spent her days taking it easy.
But one day, something bizarre happened...
Ting Jinyan: Tell me what happened.
Zhu Qingyu, gravely: I'll tell you, but don't freak out.
Ting Jinyan nodded.
Zhu Qingyu: Uncle Wang, who used to be a regular at the noodle shop... He never eats cilantro, but he finished a bowl of beef noodles with three times the usual amount without batting an eye!
Ting Jinyan: ?
Zhu Qingyu broke out in goosebumps. "That's absolutely the weirdest thing I've ever seen in my life."
Ting Jinyan: Sure.
Then Zhu Qingyu was forcibly recruited into Ting Jinyan's combat squad.
Zhu Qingyu: ...?

Later, large numbers of uncanny impostors began appearing across the city.
They looked exactly like humans and mingled among human society, watching every human action with hollow eyes like black holes.
No one knew whether they had already become the impostors' next target...

Zhu Qingyu had no intention of getting mixed up in this mess. She just wanted to lie flat and live a quiet, carefree life.
But fate had other ideas, and one mess after another kept landing in her lap.
The Dead Zone was in turmoil, and the residential district was about to fall. Ting Jinyan and the others rushed over, only to find Zhu Qingyu wielding a Miao saber that gleamed like a silver moon, with enormous flaming wings behind her lighting up the entire night sky.
She had held the entire defensive line by herself!
Ting Jinyan's expression fell apart. "...Just who are you?"
Zhu Qingyu tilted her head and smiled kindly. "Just an ordinary noodle shop owner?"
A year had passed since the last "Calamity," but the next one still hadn't arrived.
Some thought it was a good thing, a rare chance to enjoy a peaceful, quiet life.
Others were worried. The hunters had no work and couldn't earn money. They were almost unable to make ends meet.
But somewhere no one knew about, the "Calamity" had already arrived...
The cover features our dear Qingyu~
The character cards are ready! (The picture of the impostor is a little scary, so those who frighten easily should be careful.)
OS: I've already worked the artist like a production-line worker. The drawings are pretty rough, so please don't complain, or the artist won't draw for me anymore. orz
One-on-one romance from beginning to end, just the two of them, with a small ensemble cast.
If I had to put a label on it, I guess it's an older woman-younger man romance (huh?)
An original world. More works in the same setting are on the way, so look forward to reading them once there's more to binge~!
I'm a new author. If you can, please support me by adding this to your favorites. Pretty please~ OvO~
Theme: Face setbacks head-on and look to the future.
Have you guys seen the character cards?! Very pretty, right?! [Cat head] The author is squeezing the artist and will publish the article soon~ Stay tuned!
It's so gratifying to have reached 100,000 so quickly [CaiGou]
The world view is so complicated. It feels like cyberpunk? Japanese-style Western fantasy? A large-scale online game. Could it be virtual? (Irresponsible guessing)
It feels like the heroine is accepting a commissioned task 🤷
