A sickly, stoic, easily riled warrior x a cool-headed, restrained, loyal but formidable civil official
Older top, historical danmei, very pure romance, two powerful leads, ensemble cast, serious tone
Bottom's perspective:
Qi Ce, the son of a disgraced official, spent five years on the battlefield risking his life, all to obtain an imperial edict ordering a reinvestigation of his family's case. But just as he returned victorious, he was framed and thrown into the imperial prison.
Qi Ce thought he couldn't possibly get any more unlucky. Then, to make matters worse, the man interrogating him was Fu Yan, his sworn enemy, who had impeached him eighty-one times over the past five years.
After finally getting out, he somehow ended up poisoned. When the poison took effect, he became unbearably cold, and the only thing that could ease it was leaning against Fu Yan, touching him, or being held by him.
Qi Ce looked at Fu Yan's icy, sour face and decided to freeze to death.
Who knew that this iceberg would pull him close and press him against his chest?
Qi Ce: (? ? 皿 ?) ...Wait, this pretty boy's pecs seem pretty big? (*°▽°)?
-
Top's perspective:
Fu Yan had always watched him.
In his memories, Qi Ce had never seemed healthy. Whip marks, arrows, blade wounds, a deadly chill poison... He was like a lone wolf with nowhere left to run, trading his own flesh and blood for a chance to survive.
Fu Yan watched him join the army, watched him earn distinction, watched him get framed again and again and struggle through it all.
At some point, his thoughts grew fevered, and his feelings for Qi Ce gradually changed. By the time he realized what was happening, his composed exterior had already crumbled, dissolving into uncontrollable possessiveness and desire.
They had taken two different paths, making them natural enemies, until the day Qi Ce, covered in wounds, stripped off his clothes in the imperial prison and reached out to him for help for the first time.
He knew that the cool, refined censor admired by all had finally let the sordid, despicable self beneath his skin show.
-
The top keeps his desires in check and behaves impeccably at first. Later, once he falls madly in love, he goes crazy and loses control.
The bottom has no idea that two men can be together. He only realizes it after the top kisses him by force.
-
Reader's guide:
① Both are each other's first and only partners. This is a pure 1v1 romance. Even when the top goes mad and loses control, he would never hurt the bottom or cross the line, and he won't do anything illegal.
② An ensemble story covering romance, family, friendship, the ruler and his subjects, and the people around them.
③ Important! The political intrigue is kindergarten-level, and the setting is fictional, so please don't scrutinize it! The political plot is there to support point ② and is only a subplot. If you have high standards for this aspect or care a lot about it, it's best not to read. If you do read it, please don't leave a bad review over this, ovo.
④ The story gives both sides equal attention. Extreme character partisans, please stay away.

Theme: People give their lives for the greater good
Happy New Year!
I had forgotten to collect this book, but when I opened it again, I was attracted by the author's name. It was a very interesting name, and I was also interested in the copywriting, so I clicked on it on the New Year's Day. This must be a lucky thing for the beginning of 2026.
The article is compact and interesting, containing misunderstandings, tenderness, entanglements, and family and country.
When I first started watching it, it always gave me the illusion of watching a drama. It's been a long time since I've read anything like this, and I was really surprised. When I watched it, I felt nervous and in pain. It was really sad to see everyone's life backgrounds. I cursed the Dog Emperor while watching it. Ahhhh. In fact, Machiavellian writing is really difficult for a pig like me. I came here when I saw that the author's copywriting said Machiavellian Kindergarten, but I really didn't understand it before. Oh oh oh. But it doesn't prevent you from seeing young couples [glasses]
Talking about the young lovers, the entanglement between the two is so cute and uncomfortable. I was really sad and scared when I saw Mr. Fu stepping back and hoping that 77 would trust him. I was really sad and scared when I saw 77's misunderstanding and the suffering that 77 suffered. It made me so uncomfortable to write. [Bursts into tears] But, maybe because of this, tears fall inexplicably when all the hardships come to an end. Tears rolled down my face.
Each character has a different flesh and blood. As I read the article, I was always judging the good guys, bad guys, and camps. It wasn't until I saw that everyone has suffering and their own plans that I realized that we are all different people, and we are by no means tools. San Wang who followed Xiao Fu, or the unlucky Xiao Zhang, and Wang Wang, these three people are really interesting. I was scared when I saw Li Yi not pretending. I wondered if it would be sad to go back to save him at the critical moment.
In addition, other people also have different personalities.
I really like the big and happy reunion in the extra story. Duan Linfeng, Duan Busi, He Jiang, Chen Sanwang, even Pei Jiang, etc., Everyone was very happy in the peaceful and prosperous age. Pingjing, Jiangnan, Longxi, and the desert are all good.
Finally, I hope everyone will be happy. Fu Yan and Qi Ce must also be happy, and the author must be happy too! (When I was reading the article, I saw that the author's words and paragraphs were very interesting.) Oh wow, I wrote a lot of nonsense. I really like this book. Oh wow.
I want to see old enemies, I want to see two-way secret love (does it count?), I want to see young generals and courtiers, please support Po Zhenzi ovo!
It took almost a month and I finally finished it. I am filled with emotions and I still want to say something. It is very subjective, long and illogical, and it is not unreasonable. Please read it with caution.
This book does not have any earth-shattering ideas, nor does it have any novel and eye-catching themes. It has ordinary ancient stories, ordinary protagonists, predictable settings, and predictable plots.
Let's talk about the protagonists first. These two protagonists are the smallest protagonists I've ever seen in Goldfinger. They are set to be smart and capable of martial arts, but that's about it. They don't have mature insights from the beginning, nor do they have the ability to sweep away all the pursuers. Facing a brain-dead monarch, his first reaction is still foolish loyalty. Facing the Pei family's pursuers, he also needs a coincidence to escape.
I don't know if the author wants to use such characters to promote the plot (after all, they are too sophisticated to play), or to reflect their ordinaryness and the difficulty of fighting against fate, or to create a group portrait and give other supporting characters room to play their roles, so they weaken the protagonist in this way (after all, the protagonist If the halo is too big, it will overwhelm other people and make the group portrait uninteresting), but for me, who is used to seeing protagonists who are either super smart and strategizing, or have outstanding martial arts skills that no one can match, it was really difficult to accept such protagonists at first. I felt that they were dull and even a little "suffering".
But then I thought, sometimes there is no golden finger, which is the valuable thing. Just as we will not be moved when a lion pretends to be a pig and eats a tiger, but we will probably get excited because the earthworm shakes the big tree. Of these two protagonists, Fu Yan was a little more sober at first, but still clumsy, not to mention Qi Ce, who was quite stupid (not in a derogatory sense), which made me speechless and angry. I even abandoned the article for a while, but later picked it up because I was curious about the answer. However, I am standing from a third perspective, overlooking the overall situation. As players in the game, how can they distinguish right from wrong? Perhaps, we cannot demand that they have a God's perspective from the beginning. Perhaps, breaking away from delusion in confusion and groping in the darkness is the most real appearance.
Let's talk about my subjective point of view. I really like the character of a young general like Qi Ce. He has a heavy burden but is high-spirited. There are enemies in front of him and the country behind him. Qi Ce has grown up in my aesthetic point. The author portrays Qi Ce very well and three-dimensionally. From his lively childhood to his loneliness and bravery after his family was destroyed in his youth, from his foolish loyalty to his transformation in his youth, the growth line is extremely clear. The young general is no longer an empty character, a tag posted to increase the character buff, but a real, flesh-and-blood person who can think and make mistakes. As for Fu Yan, I personally don't like the male ghost type very much, so I don't like him very much. I even prefer his self-denial and restoration of etiquette in the early stage (my weird aesthetic point), but I have to say that his description of Xiao Qi's feelings is very vivid, and he is not a brainless tool man created for the sake of pampering. His feelings are pure and complex, fiery and restrained. In addition to being sweet, they are more sour. And apart from Qi Ce's lover, he is still himself. He doesn't just think about the ability of Gong when seeing feelings. He has his own ideals and his own plans. Although it seems arbitrary and slightly naive to us, it all shows that he is a living person. This has been missing in many other novels. It is really rare to see such real feelings, even though it is not perfect, and such a determined author who is not swayed by the market, even though it is not popular enough.
Let's talk about the plot. In fact, I feel it is a bit like the main plot + dungeons. I look for evidence of the main plot in each dungeon and finally complete the main plot. I don't know whether it is accurate or not. I feel that the main plot is relatively plain. After all, the setting is understandable, and there is nothing that can be renovated. But several copies are okay, the settings are unconventional and serve the main line. It's just a pity that the Longxi dungeon is good. Although outsmarting is also very good, it's a pity that I didn't watch the final battle. I always wanted to see Qi Ce as a general killing everyone. Without this part, I always feel that the character arc is not fully reflected.
As an aside, there are many coincidences in the plot, and they are mainly reflected in the fact that the protagonist is saved by other characters. I personally feel that this affects the perception of the novel more or less. Of course, there are no coincidences in the book. The twists and turns of the plot are also an important part of the novel. Otherwise, Qi Ce and Fu Yan would have died at an unknown time.
However, I always felt that the rhythm before and after the plot was different. According to the rhythm of the first 30 chapters, I thought it would be finished in chapter 150, but it obviously felt that the pace was much faster in the middle and later stages. I don't know if it was an illusion.
Finally, let's talk about the most important thing about this book, group portraits. I have to say that the writing is really good, vivid and lively, with contrasts and interactions. Everyone has their own story line, not just a supporting role in this book. Li Lingshu, who conquered the Huns with wisdom, Li Tiao, who pretended to be a pig and ate the tiger, Jiang Tingzhou, who had a self-destructive mentality but was still loyal to the country, and He Linyun, who had been drinking ice and hot blood for ten years. They had their own interests and friendships, as well as their own methods and schemes, and even sometimes Sometimes they will overshadow the protagonist. Some of them have saved the protagonist more than once, and some have provided the protagonist with completely different winning strategies. Even Xiao Zhang, the little follower who seemed to be just making sweets in the early stage, has a hidden second identity. No one is simple and no one is a foil. It's not just a group of friends who revolve around the protagonist and work together in the same boat to be called a group portrait. It's also a group portrait of a group of people who have their own agendas (no) who plot against each other (or even become enemies with the protagonist) but end up with the same destination.
The protagonists are not the masters of this world, they are just a member of all living beings in this world. They try to change their fate against the will of nature, but they are not the only executors of this plan, or even the first executors. In comparison, even the protagonist is eclipsed by the light of the group portrait.
When I saw their tragic experiences, when I saw them finally succeeding after going through ups and downs, I was very calm, but when I saw what they should have been like in the if line, I suddenly felt sad. Originally, they didn't have to become scheming, and they didn't have to be forced to grow up.
Maybe this is the success of the group portrait.
This is the first time I write such a long review. This book is not the best I have ever read, nor is it the most difficult to write about, but it is the most sincere and sincere thing I want to say after reading it. I would like to thank the author again for bringing this book, and I wish my wife good luck with the third time and the new book serialization! I hope my wife can always write the novels she likes!
Wuwuwuwu The original ending is that everyone is fine [crying] [crying] [crying] [crying]
Delicious... So delicious [Spread Flowers] [Spread Flowers] Gu Dan really tests the writing skills. After such a long time in the literary field, I found such delicacies. I am really so beautiful that I forget what the world is. [Spread Flowers] The key to mist grass is a by-product and also Nian Shang (children, I really like the development of Xiao Duan.) Nian Shang Dang, who is extremely mysophobic, really just wants to say to the author that I will not go to the Louvre because I have already met my Mona Lisa... I hope the teacher's works can be seen by more people! !
You two newlyweds may live a long and prosperous life! ! !

It's really nice to read a chapter like this before going to bed. . ! This issue is my favorite to watch when I fall in love with my classmate at school! Owo
I have always wanted to read this article, but I didn't read it because it felt a bit cruel. It's written very well. It will definitely get better and better in the future. I wish you and your family peace and joy. Hugs [hugs] [hugs] [crying]
