Nohara Noemi, a scholar of Bad Ending Aesthetics with a tenth-degree black belt, replayed the childhood-friend route seven times in a game to come back to life, diligently acting the part of a lovelorn childhood friend whose love went unreturned.
In the first playthrough, her childhood friend was a split-personality boy who loved basketball.
In the second, he was a rich young man who loved tennis.
In the third, he was a walking bandage-wasting device.
In the fourth, he was still a kid, but already had the weary air of a burned-out office worker.
In the fifth, he was the Third King.
In the sixth, he was a citysexual.
In the seventh, he was the number-three man in an organization who loved catching rats.
Every one of the childhood friends played along, and all seven of them remained unmoved by their Bad Ending finales.
The Westermarck effect never lies!
Not long after coming back to life in the real world, Nohara Noemi was set up on a blind date by Mrs. Nohara. To her surprise, the date turned out to be Bourbon, the traitor from her seventh playthrough. Even more absurdly, her archenemy from the fourth playthrough popped up and ruined the date.
No longer bound to the System, Nohara Noemi was furious but couldn't say a thing. She thought she could return to a peaceful life, but her childhood friends from the game began showing up one after another, making Mrs. Nohara think her daughter was a heartbreaker.
Seeing all those handsome men volunteering to become her son-in-law, Mrs. Nohara fixed her daughter with a sharp gaze and said sourly, "Noemi, don't tell me you inherited your biological father's lousy genes?"
Nohara Noemi's eyes widened in disbelief. "Mrs. Nohara, what on earth are you talking about? I, Nohara Noemi, would never fall for someone just because I met them!"
"Then what's the deal with all those men you've been meeting?"
"Oh, they're all nuts. They keep saying I'm their childhood friend. You know I've never had any childhood friends, not once in my life..."
Please. Noemi wasn't worried in the least. The little childhood friend is Natsuo Kirino. What does that have to do with her, Nohara Noemi?
A few notes:
1. The heroine is a total weakling early on. When the System returns later, she becomes the strongest of them all.
2. The childhood friends will have to suffer through a long road to win her back. The heroine says that feelings that come too late aren't love.
3. The male lead hasn't been decided yet. I'll update the blurb once that's settled.
Theme: Love yourself first, then love others.
