Love in the Mortal World

My first work! I finished it around 2012 to 2015, when I was still under twenty, in the prime of my life. This story involves two worlds, with a third appearing near the end... It inevitably carries over my old worldbuilding, those old Mary Sue-style names and personalities, and the old... well... The male lead is just a background ornament.

Lan Yuchenxin is the favored daughter of the demon realm, yet she's caught between elders who keep her in check, her own convictions that she needs to protect, and a whole lot of bosses who come rushing at her to farm experience. She struggles through the whirlpool of survival with her two younger sisters, then goes with the flow. Dying... that's normal, right? Being reincarnated again? That's normal, too.

I've heard that immortals suffer the Five Signs of Decay. Besides extending their lives with treasures, they can also undergo trials in the mortal world and experience the Eight Sufferings.

But I'm a demon of the demon realm, Lan Yuchenxin.

Why has my life been so bitter, too?

This story is technically a bad ending, but I don't know what I was thinking back then. I added a little more for my baby and turned it into a happy ending. I can't say whether it's good or bad, conventional or unconventional. All I know now is that my baby doesn't have to become a genuinely miserable little bitter melon.

Theme: The world is bitter, so find your own sweetness.
