Also known as "The Spirit Pearl Is So Shiny, the Evil Dragon Wants to Steal It"
(A freshly hatched idea I'm saving for later, 2025.7.8. Please, please add it to your favorites! It's terrifying to start a book with no readers T T. This and the story with the child bridegroom are probably parallel worlds. This one follows the Investiture of the Gods, a mindless, fluffy rom-com. The blurb and title might still change.)
[Western evil dragon x Eastern lotus-root brat]
[One-on-one, happy ending, silly sweet romance | Childhood friends | Chasing the wife to the crematorium | Mythology mash-up]
Xuanji was a Western evil dragon so poor she had to eat dirt. After wandering to the East, she discovered that treasure glittered everywhere, especially the Xuanyuan Bow in the Li household.
Xuanji: So bright, so shiny. It's mine!
You say it's not mine? If it wasn't mine, how did it end up in my hands?
She was just about to steal it when a handsome young man grabbed her by the scruff of the neck.
The handsome young man sneered. "What kind of stray cat dares steal from my house?"
Xuanji was furious and wanted to burn him to a crisp with a blast of hellfire. But her Eye of Judgment instantly saw that this kid was no ordinary person. He was clearly an ancient spirit pearl, a treasure unique among the Three Realms!
Xuanji: So bright, so shiny. It's mine!
She immediately sheathed her claws, sweetly tilted her head and rubbed against his palm. A few little sparks came out when she opened her mouth, and she gazed at him with big, watery cat eyes. "Meow~"
The Spirit Pearl: This cat breathes fire! It's mine.
You say it's not mine? If it wasn't mine, how did it end up in my hands?

Later, the Spirit Pearl took his little black cat everywhere. He fed her at mealtimes and held her while he slept, raising her until her coat gleamed. He used the Qiankun Ring as her collar and the Huntian Sash as her leash, showing off with her on the battlefield.
The Spirit Pearl: Little Black, come on, bare your fangs! Show them how fierce you are!
Xuanji: Raaawr! (She obediently bristles up, turning into an angry dandelion.)
Enemy soldiers: Ha! Is that all?
Then, by accident, she revealed her true form: a vicious-looking black dragon. Her wings spread, blotting out the sky and the sun. Her roar shook the earth, and her hellfire scorched the heavens. Like an ancient beast recorded in the "Classic of Mountains and Seas," she was so fearsome that she scared several immortals unconscious.
Xuanji: Heehee. (She paws the ground, plotting mischief, ready to get even worse.)
The Spirit Pearl: Change back. (Coldly.)
Xuanji: Fine. (Pouts.)
The only problem was that this cat always wanted to carry him back to her den and hide him away. She even insisted on pinning him beneath her while they slept. It was completely backward. Which one of them was the master, anyway?
Later, the Spirit Pearl grew up to become the illustrious Third Prince Nezha.
Everyone knew he had fallen for someone.
Unfortunately, she was a foreigner.
Confess? He couldn't understand a word of her Korean...

Xuanji's heat was approaching. She had her eye on an Eastern dragon, whose glittering scales dazzled her.
Xuanji: Wow, exotic! (Wolf-whistles.) Mine!
That very day, she set up a love nest, showed off all her possessions, and put on her prettiest clothes. She went to the sea to find Dragon Brother and dance for him. She was about to get her way when the Huntian Sash wrapped her up like a rice dumpling and dumped her on the bed. Dragon Brother was gone, and all that remained was her little pearl, glaring at her angrily.
Xuanji: ???
"Xuanji, just try going after someone else!"
"I am the shiniest, most dazzling treasure in the Three Realms. I'm yours."
"Not enough? Then let's make a few little pearls!"
Dragon-blood spirit pearls? Wow~
Reader's Guide
1. Most of the story is original and set in an alternate world, so don't overthink it. The two have different species-specific instincts and will misunderstand each other.
2. Nezha is still an arrogant, sharp-tongued, jealous little vinegar jar. His look still favors Black Nezha, and he was a little Black Nezha as a child, too. (No-brainer explanation.)
3. The female lead is doted on by everyone. In the West, she's a good-for-nothing second-generation heir. Her magic is incredibly powerful, but she's lazy and loves money. Her daily job is to play with her money (meaning Nezha).
Theme: Love born from the collision of Eastern and Western mythology
