Yu Shi was reborn. Before him lay a contract, and across from him sat the agent who had ruined his reputation in his previous life.
He promptly pushed the contract away and walked out. On a giant LED screen at the mall, a promo for Infinite Idol was playing. It was the talent show that had made him an overnight sensation, only for him to plunge into the abyss just as quickly.
In his previous life, his original singing-and-dancing performance at the initial evaluation had stunned the crowd. A clip of the livestream went viral overnight, and his fanbase instantly topped a million. But his dazzling talent drew attacks from both a major company and the show's production team. Whenever he appeared onstage alongside the company's trainees, he was accused of manufacturing a BL ship for publicity. If he said a word to a popular contestant, he was accused of leeching off his fame. In the end, even helping other trainees polish their choreography was twisted into bullying. Once the negative labels stuck, they were impossible to shake, and Yu Shi was ultimately kept from debuting.
In this new life, Yu Shi decided to use those negative labels to his advantage.
Iconic Moment One:
At the initial evaluation, his voice was completely hoarse, so all he could do was offer the camera an apologetic smile. His eyes drooped, and his long, slightly curled lashes cast shadows beneath them, his disappointment impossible to hide. "I'm sorry. I don't want this either, but I really can't sing."
Fans: Help, I don't like useless pretty faces either, but he really brought that breathtaking first impression to life. Yu Shi's face is just too powerful! Who could possibly not love him?
Just as the #PrettyFaceWithNoTalent tag sent Yu Shi rocketing up the trending charts, he staged an astonishing comeback in the theme-song evaluation and took center position. A mentor was even heard saying, "If he's not in the center, nobody else can hold the stage."
Iconic Moment Two:
During a group performance, Yu Shi accidentally stepped on an obstacle, lost his balance, and fell onto a popular contestant nearby. His peach-blossom eyes gazed at the other man with deep affection, only to be met with an eye roll.
As a company specializing in paid online comments aggressively hyped the story, the black trending tags #ManufacturedBLShip and #FameLeech quickly flooded the charts. But the fans were clutching their chests and silently shrieking.
Am I the only one who thinks they're so shippable? These two look like strangers, but they're secretly keeping tabs on each other. The all-around gorgeous performer accidentally makes a mistake and instinctively looks for the other guy, while the other one looks annoyed but still catches Yu Shi securely...
In front of the cameras, Yu Shi flashed the popular contestant a radiant smile. "Thanks for playing along. Want half the buzz?"
Iconic Moment Three:
Seeing that Yu Shi was unstoppable, the tags #ProductionFavorite and #ResourceRichStar arrived right on schedule. So Yu Shi simply started bossing the production team around on livestream, upgrading the stage design and changing the costumes and props, ultimately creating a legendary performance.
Fans: An all-around ACE should have this kind of stage presence!
