Li Jue was a courier on the Tang Empire's frontier, responsible for all the letters traveling between the capital and Yumen Pass, along a route with five relay stations. He raced back and forth along the three-thousand-li road, dusty from dawn to dusk, and built himself a solid, muscular frame. With his commanding bearing, he looked like someone you didn't want to cross.
One day, a wealthy young man came to the relay station to collect a letter. Bright-eyed and handsome, with an innocent, cheerful smile, he swiftly rummaged through the mailboxes and asked Li Jue eagerly, "Excuse me, is there a letter from Li Ran in Chang'an?"
Who? Li Ran?
Li Jue narrowed his eyes at the young man. "Who are you? Why would Li Ran write to you?"
Wen Lanzhi blinked and answered with complete seriousness, "Sending letters by wild goose. Why ask so many questions?"
Li Jue thought, "When did I ever exchange letters by wild goose with a man?"
A light, easygoing sweet romance.
