I plan to start my next book soon. I'm gathering advance readers.
Qiao Rong is a dull, honest person.
Reborn as a cannon-fodder heiress who acts arrogant early on, then goes blind and is punished by everyone later, all she can do is accept her fate, dumbfounded.
Today, she steps on the impoverished male lead, loses her balance, and falls on top of him, earning a resentful glare.
Tomorrow, she argues with her uptight older brother, who's just returned from abroad. She fails to see where she's going and ends up straddling him, earning a cold rebuke as he grips her leg.
The day after, she brags to her fiance about her romantic history. When she tries to slap him, she misses, and he bites her finger and demands an explanation.
As her vision keeps getting worse, Qiao Rong bullies people until she's a complete mess herself. She can't even tell who's saying that a touch or a pat will make her feel better, or who's coming back for more even after she slaps them.
Then the real young master returns, and the day of her retribution draws near. Qiao Rong shakily clutches her wallet, summons her courage, and runs away.
How terrifying. Retribution really did come right on schedule.
After a car accident leaves her blind, the people she bullied catch her in the hospital, and she's done for. A sudden idea strikes Qiao Rong. She lies and says her new boyfriend is coming to look after her, then tells them all to leave.
The room falls silent as the grave.
Three days later, the boyfriend she made up out of thin air appears.
Her boyfriend comes whenever she calls, patient and attentive.
He asks why she's keeping her distance and pulling away. Qiao Rong can only obediently grab the hem of her clothes and let him hold her.
He asks why she doesn't hold hands and kiss him like she used to. Qiao Rong can only raise her head pitifully and let him touch her mouth until she can barely speak clearly.
He touches her during the day, then wants to touch her again at night. He keeps rubbing her even when she isn't speaking, until her lashes grow damp. Even more terrifying, why can she feel a hand behind her the night she whimpers and backs away?
Where did this boyfriend even come from? Qiao Rong is so scared she doesn't dare move. She can't run or see, so all she can do is endure, slick with sweat.
It all continues until the day her sight returns. She cautiously opens her eyes and sees several faces, some light and some shadowed, appear beside the bed, greedily vying for her attention. They ask:
“Qiao Rong, you're awake? Tell us, which one of us is your boyfriend?”
