After she transmigrates into a book, Yin Wanqing is tricked by a shady System and sent to ancient Egypt, where he becomes the cannon-fodder male supporting character destined to die after climbing into the male lead's bed in a romance novel.
System: You must change the original story's dark and gruesome ending into one of kindness and beauty.
Yin Wanqing looks at himself, naked and trying to seduce the male lead, who kills his father and younger brother in the original story and is skilled in eighteen kinds of torture: (^_^)~ Why don't you just kill me instead?
Wait! He's only nineteen, in the prime of his youth!
Before he can go back, Yin Wanqing chooses to cling to life (and try to keep some dignity): "Your Highness, I am an emissary sent by Ra. I can help you ascend the throne!"
Ramesses strokes the snake scales and looks up, his jade-green eyes seeming to smile. "Oh?"
But nobody told him that staying alive would mean pretending to be the original heroine and marrying him, too!
-
To maintain both his identity as a divine emissary and as the crown prince's fiancée, Yin Wanqing nervously makes his way around the Egyptian palace, advising the male lead and finally getting Ramesses to believe him, at least for now.
When he turns around, the male lead's half-brother pins him against the wall, leaning in close to his neck and sniffing like a dog. "Sister-in-law, you smell so good."
As a straight man, Yin Wanqing has only the mission in mind. With his cheat ability, he throws his weight around among these ancients, but gradually discovers another side of the original male lead that no one knows about.
Stargazing, floating lanterns, a bonfire on a mountaintop, the moon over the sea... It was all supposed to be an act, but his heart has started to wander off course.
But Ramesses has too many secrets.
Later, Yin Wanqing discovers that one of those secrets is that Ramesses sacrifices himself as a hostage, appearing at a palace coup alongside the original heroine, who was supposed to have died...
Fine. He must have been wrong about him.
Facing the knife about to pierce Ramesses's chest, he leaps in front of it, smiling brightly. "I wish you two a hundred years of happiness together."
But then he sees the usually impassive face crack apart.
-
Yin Wanqing, who faked his death to escape: Ahahaha, I'm finally back!
But every night after returning, he's tightly wrapped in the coils of a green-eyed giant python, almost crushed to the bone.
System: SOS! The original story world has collapsed. Forced transfer initiated!
Yin Wanqing hasn't even woken up when he's sent back to that world of endless yellow sand once more.
WTF???
[Bonus Scene]:
The magnificent golden hall is so dark and deep that it resembles a cage made entirely of gold. Flames flicker, illuminating countless enormous statues throughout the hall, all carved in Yin Wanqing's likeness.
Ramesses has long since ascended the throne, and is even more cruel and despotic than he was years ago. He sees the figure in the corner, tightens his grip on the carving knife, and slowly raises his head. His narrow, cold green eyes are like a venomous snake lying in wait until its prey finally arrives:
"I've caught you."
This time, you won't get away again.
Straight man disguising himself as a woman, with maximum survival instincts, and a sunny disposition, bottom x Verbal denial, true feelings, Pharaoh top. A fake romance turns real, with a touch of chasing the wife to the crematorium.
The story opens in December.
[Reading Guide]
1. Fictional ancient Egyptian setting. Everything is shaped by the needs of the story. The author isn't a professional scholar and has tried to be practical, but please don't scrutinize the history.
2. A little melodramatic, with a happy ending. The top isn't a scumbag, and there are many plot threads woven throughout. Enjoy!
Theme: True love conquers all!!!
