Farming in the Game World

I'm an NPC in a game world, living on a little island rich in resources. Every day I plant, harvest, and sell vegetables, earning coins to expand my little house. Sometimes I pick up a weapon and go hunting in the forest.

My life is ordinary but fulfilling.

Until one day, I opened my front door--

A stranger was sitting in a chair. He said, "Hello, I'm the husband assigned to you by the game world."

Me: "?"

What is a husband even for in this game?

I thought about it for a very, very long time. In the end, I understood.

When I overfill my inventory with mushrooms and collapse, unable to crawl home, I call my husband. "Help!"

When I catch rabbits in the forest until I faint from hunger, unable to crawl home, I call my husband. "Help!"

When I accidentally get stuck in a rock, unable to crawl home, I call my husband. "Help!"

He always shows up right on time.

So, a husband = useful!
