Luo Mian's parents are the contrasting couple in a period novel.
The book describes them as a capitalist's daughter and an officer from a poor peasant background. Their different upbringings and experiences left them with nothing to talk about. The man initially tried to nurture their relationship, but his efforts were unrequited, and before long, the two fell into silence around each other.
In the end, one took their daughter to Hong Kong to seek refuge with her parents, while the other stayed behind on an island.
Until she turned ten, Luo Mian really believed it. Later, she made frequent trips between Hong Kong and the mainland island, and at seventeen, she gradually came to understand her parents.
Her proud mother held her hand and lingered for a long time before leaving, waiting for someone to ask her to stay. Her father had red eyes, but couldn't bring himself to hold her back, so he let her go. After the divorce, they each lived alone, silently keeping tabs on the other through her.
Luo Mian tossed and turned, trying to get her parents back together. When she woke up, she had returned to the year she was three, when she boarded a ship with her mother to join her father on the island...
My new book, "Village Gossip in a Demolition Zone [Millennium Era]," is now available. Please add it to your collection!
Luo An looks like a sweet girl, but she's a sanda champion with natural superhuman strength. She is transmigrated into a wealthy Hong Kong family at birth and stays with her grandparents and parents until the 1980s.
After the family splits up, she takes the meager assets left to her and promptly heads inland to inherit the ancestral home and farmland.
The family settles in Xingfu Village and opens a small supermarket. At six, Luo An is already the person nobody in the village wants to mess with.
At twenty-one, she marries He Zhi, her childhood friend who always looked out for her. More accurately, he moves in with her, bringing his whole family along.
From then on, the He family gets a new head of the household, and the two families become one. Her grandmother and in-laws stand tall at last, no longer the spineless doormats they used to be!
The laid-back couple has a sweet, naive daughter after marriage. Together with their big family, they live a peaceful, leisurely life running the small supermarket, with the occasional bit of gossip to enjoy.
It's the millennium, and news that the village is being demolished sends the whole place into an uproar! The laid-back family becomes a bunch of busybodies in a field of melons, unable to stop watching the show and eating up all the gossip!
