Xi Mu's life should have ended quietly on her eighteenth birthday.
She climbed onto the high altar, her body engulfed in sacred fire, waiting for the pain to pass and for her to merge with the dark god, like all the family sacrifices chosen before her.
But an inexplicable upheaval suddenly occurred. She fell from the altar into an underground river, swept along by the rushing current. When she woke, she was trapped in an unfamiliar cage.

She was badly injured.
But she didn't care. She felt nothing and had no plans for the future.
Raised as a sacrifice, the girl's mind was a blank. She had no attachment to life.
Until a hesitant question suddenly came from the cell opposite hers:
“...Are you okay?”

This person named Rui Xia was really strange.
He kept talking about “working together” and “being worried,” all while rummaging around and handing her one item after another.
He looked so frail, as if she could easily strangle him... How had such a trusting creature survived this long?
Xi Mu didn't understand, and she was a little curious.
So when the boy earnestly suggested, “There's strength in numbers. Let's figure out how to get out of here together,” she found herself, on an impulse, making up an excuse to convince herself and agreeing to go with him.

Dense forests, enormous lakes, a starry sky that never moved, and a mysterious academy from the past hidden in the fog...
The boys' journey continued, broken clues gradually took shape, and the secrets hidden across endless years slowly came to light, revealing what had brought them all together.
They traveled side by side, but after shattering the conspiracy, they would each go their own way.
But by then, Xi Mu no longer wanted to leave the boy who smiled at her so gently.
Reader notes:
1. A self-serving, hollow-hearted assassin girl X a warm, gentle puppy-like young mechanic
2. A Western fantasy in another world, with a mountain of original worldbuilding. Mechanica is mechanical engineering with a touch of magic.
Theme: You have to choose your own path
I have already begun to imagine the heroine becoming a gravity-based girl who stalks the hero.
