Later, at the engagement banquet, Lu Xiuzhuo, who should have been there as one of the stars of the event, is nowhere to be seen.

In the room separated from the banquet hall by just one wall, Lu Xiuzhuo clings tightly to Jiang Songqing, his eyes red, and asks almost pleadingly:

"Gege, I sent you hundreds of messages. Why didn't you answer? Why do you keep avoiding me? Don't you want me anymore?"

Notes:

1. The top's engagement to the bottom's younger brother is fake, a temporary measure to placate their families. The top and the bottom's younger brother have no romantic feelings for each other, and they never actually got engaged. The bottom's younger brother has someone he likes.

2. Younger top, one-on-one romance, both leads are sexually and emotionally exclusive.

3. Both the top and the bottom are Alphas.

4. They only have eyes for each other. No pairing them with anyone else, and no switching roles.

After finishing his few missions, Shen Fu lies flat for several hundred years, outlasting the sect leader and his fellow disciples. Just as he is about to inherit an entire mountain of gold, the world resets.

Back to square one in an instant, Shen Fu says, "Screw this! Are you messing with me?!"

To make matters worse, he's reborn at the one and only plot point he had in the book: saving the protagonist, Ji Yanzhi, when he is being hunted by the great sects.

With flames roaring into the sky, Shen Fu stands atop a pile of bones and looks down at Ji Yanzhi in a pool of blood, unable to stop himself from sighing. "I really do owe you... Rise, my Dragon-Ao protagonist!"

According to the script, Shen Fu should have finished the job and left, but midway through, Ji Yanzhi, who had passed out, slowly opens his eyes.

Shen Fu hurriedly knocks him out again and runs.

That was close. He almost got caught.

He has only just escaped to his bedroom when the sect leader kicks the door open and tosses a blood-soaked boy onto his bed. "My dear junior brother, this boy has excellent spiritual roots. He'll make the perfect cultivation cauldron to cure the deadly poison in your body!"

Damn it, this isn't the plot he's supposed to be following! Going against the plot will make him suffer a backlash!

Shen Fu's vision goes black. He's fully prepared to die on the spot from the plot's backlash.

But several nights later, Shen Fu lies flat with a pile of gold and silver in his arms, waiting to die, when a strange sensation touches his lips. Shen Fu's eyes widen in shock.

Ji Yanzhi, who has successfully stolen a kiss, gazes at him with undisguised admiration. His cheeks even flush with excitement. "The sect leader said a cultivation cauldron is born for this. Shizun, would you like to enjoy me?"

It's over. Something even worse than the plot backlash has arrived. Can someone explain why the perfectly normal Dragon-Ao protagonist has suddenly turned gay?!

Ever since Ji Yanzhi latched onto him, Shen Fu has gradually noticed that the people around him are acting strange.

Senior Brother: If I pretend to be sick and cry after sword practice, will my junior brother really share a hot spring with me without any clothes on?

Ji Yanzhi: Works every time.

With a crash, the door is kicked open, and Shen Fu charges in with his sword. Those are all the dirty tricks Ji Yanzhi has used on him!

That day, everyone in the Immortal Alliance watches as the good-for-nothing wandering cultivator, who usually gets winded after a few steps, chases the Alliance Leader and the number one and number two experts in the world around with his sword for an entire night.

Apparently, the three of them flee in every direction, holding their heads. What a spectacle.
