[Wu/Zhui] Missed Connections

Heartless Fallen leaves drift down as my hair turns white, In white robes, I gaze at the moon, my temples disheveled. My heart is full of sorrow and thoughts of parting, A lone grave faces east. Murky wine cannot summon the one who has left, Chrysanthemums fill my view as I face the autumn wind. The flowing water mourns the flowers, leaving only regret, Our promise to meet in a hundred years was like a dream. Chasing Fate Wild geese pass, heralding autumn. What can I do against the years? The young man of the past has grown haggard. The chrysanthemums must laugh at this lonely ghost, Half a lifetime passed like a dream, dancing in a whirl. To gain you was my good fortune; to lose you was fate, My remnant life stays beside your grave, yearning in vain. How many storms, how many Double Ninth Festivals, A foolish heart still remains within me. Theme:
