Proud, delicate native-born male insect vs possessive, domineering female-insect marshal who dotes on him
Who is Sang Yin? The most precious male insect in the entire empire. His father is the Insect Emperor, and his other father is the chief justice of the Empire's Supreme Court. His life as an insect is destined to be smooth sailing and entirely his own to command.
However, one insect tells him that this world is a book, and the book says he'll fail to awaken. His male father will have no choice but to raise another promising male insect. Before long, everyone will abandon Sang Yin, and he'll become cannon fodder, imprisoned and tortured day and night by the book's villain.
???
Is that even something an insect would say?
"I'm cannon fodder? You're saying the most beautiful male insect, chosen by the empire's countless insect citizens, is cannon fodder? Even if I fail to awaken, I'm still S-rank, the highest-ranking male insect in the empire."
"But you're so cute, so I don't think you'd lie. I believe you."
Nothing else matters, especially that last part. A certain perverted insect really might do something like that. Sang Yin even suspects that perverted insect is behind it all.
Damn Leon.
No wonder that transmigrated insect is so annoying and always goes against him. It turns out he's got something wrong with his head.
"One-on-one? Have you no insect ethics? How can a male insect fail to contribute to the reproduction of the insect race? And cooking? Isn't that tiring? If the male insect cooks, what is the female insect supposed to do?"
Other insects: Don't you only have one female lord, too?
Sang Yin: My argument makes no sense, but I've got plenty of nerve. If any insect could beat that pervert, I wouldn't have to act like this!
As the empire's marshal, Leon has always looked down on male insects raised into useless, delicate, fragile, violent brats.
That is, until he met the extravagant Sang Yin, the most difficult male insect in the empire. Sang Yin is imperious and bizarrely wicked, yet somehow has Leon wrapped around his little finger.
At last, Leon understands: an insect like Sang Yin can't be indulged. The male insect has already crossed his line, and Leon won't be fooled by his sweet talk again.
"Leon, what are you doing? Why haven't you come over to put my shoes on yet?"
All he has to do is grit his teeth, steel his heart, and walk over to refuse him with the same cold ruthlessness he shows at the military headquarters. Then the male insect will naturally behave himself for a while.
But the male insect is being cute again, sitting obediently on the bed and waiting for him to come over. This...
You can't build a bottom line without breaking it first. There's no need to take it too seriously. The male insect is so cute. What's the harm in indulging him a little?
Please add my upcoming novel, Insect Research Log, to your reading list.
[Set in an imaginary fictional world, unrelated to reality. Please don't associate it with real life.]
Selene is a native-born male insect, but because he hatched on a trash planet, he has to disguise himself as a subfemale and survive alone.
He lives in the desert, occasionally going to the main city to buy supplies. Most of the time, he studies and scavenges.
Just as he is about to awaken, an injured space pirate kidnaps him.
The male insect is, of course, doing it on purpose. The pirate looks sturdy and would make an ideal assistant, picking up trash for him and saving him lots of time.
Shuo was accidentally sucked into a wormhole. After several unlucky jumps, he landed on a trash planet. His escape pod was completely smashed, and he was injured, so he could only kidnap a weak subfemale to help treat his wounds.
Things didn't quite go as he'd expected. Why was an S-rank female insect taking orders from a subfemale?
Shuo: "I'm not going again!"
This damn trash planet! There's no way he'd stoop to picking up trash for that cold subfemale again. It would be an insult to his soul.
"You can leave."
Selene furrows his brow slightly. His assistant loses control from time to time. It's such a hassle. Maybe he should find someone else.
Shuo gets even angrier. What kind of attitude is that? The subfemale acts like he's completely useless trash.
"If I leave, there won't be anyone to pick up all that junk for you!"
"I was planning to hire a subfemale..."
Selene doesn't finish. The female insect looks like he's about to enter a violent period.
"Go throw your tantrum somewhere else." Don't wreck my lab.
Shuo snorts, then charges into the trash heap and returns with a load of useful metal.
Could a subfemale be as useful as him? Could one carry such heavy trash? Could one recognize so many rare metals?
Selene is not at all surprised by the female insect's performance.
