Originally titled Monsters in Love in a Bizarre World
Instance One: The Werewolf Village, complete
Instance Two: Fertile Lands in the Mountains, complete
Instance Three: Battle for the Oasis, ongoing
[A tsundere, popular-with-everyone powerhouse who doesn’t know it, as the bottom × a loyal, oddly minded nonhuman who’s the top]
Ji Weilin, the most beautiful powerhouse in the Demon Hunters’ Legion and the one who hits monsters the hardest, transmigrates into a monster romance game as a romanceable NPC.
He’s trapped in the enemy’s lair, and his record-breaking monster-killing career is turning into a job serving the players. The whole process is livestreamed, too.
Before launch
Ji Weilin: “Monsters still dare to fall for me these days?”
Monster Romance players: “His sworn enemy crashes and burns right into his bed? Now that’s interesting.”
After launch
Ji Weilin stares at the players’ affection meters, which keep rising the harder he beats them, and falls into deep thought.
Monster Romance players: “When will our streamer realize this is a romance game, not a one-versus-many, live-action fighting game?”
[Instance One]
Ji Weilin kidnaps a player because he doesn’t like the original ending.
Player: “?”
Comments: “???”
[Instance Two]
A power-leveling service provider falls out with their client. The reason? They both want to unlock a marriage ending with Ji Weilin.
After a fierce contest, the power-leveling provider who makes it through the final round tallies up their assets, only to discover that the empire they worked so hard to build has somehow been registered under Ji Weilin’s name.
Ji Weilin: “Congratulations on unlocking a new ending: you lose both your money and your man.”
[Instance Three]
After disappearing for a while, Ji Weilin reappears in Monster Romance. The players, who have long dreamed of finally getting their hands on him, rush to the scene, only to find several unfamiliar faces by his side.
The bizarre creatures: Warning! Dangerous person! Dangerous person!!
With no other options, Monster Romance players turn to the community for a guide to courting the career-minded Demon Hunter. The most-liked answer comes from a newbie ranked first on Ji Weilin’s livestream, with an absurdly long list of paid gifts: “First, send lots of gifts to earn a chance to enter an instance with him.”
The Monster Romance players, genuinely eager to learn, immediately put the advice into practice: “Even if we take every possible setback into account, why couldn’t I be the one to win Ji Weilin over?”
*
One day, much later, Ji Weilin suddenly realizes he has only one “beloved” with an affection rating above eighty.
Ji Weilin asks the jellyfish trying its hardest to get him wet, “What happened to my other sugar daddies?”
Deepwater: “I ate them.”
A beginner’s guide to Monster Romance, including things to watch out for
① A strictly monogamous 1v1 romance. No switching or breaking up the pairing. Extreme ship loyalists, beware.
② The top’s true form is a jellyfish, and it has clones. It makes its proper appearance fairly late, though it’s active in the livestream chat early on.
③ Monsters usually look human. When they power up, they transform completely into monsters. The story explains the details.
④ This is a long, plot-driven story. The instances mentioned in the blurb aren’t the first, second, and third instances in the main story. The top has fewer scenes in the first three instances, so readers mainly interested in the romance might want to stockpile chapters first!
⑤ Update schedule: Before signing, updates follow the rankings. After signing, there will be daily updates, usually at six in the evening.
Please add my upcoming novel, One Street on the Road to the Underworld, and I’m the Landlord, to your reading list!
Jiang Yue’nian had no home while alive, but after death he acquires a building on the Road to the Underworld. If he rents every room to the evil spirits squatting there and refusing to leave, he can be reborn.
On his first day moving in on the Road to the Underworld, Jiang Yue’nian bursts into tears: “Everything else is fine, but why did they assign me a building that’s falling apart?”
He asks the only witness at the crime scene, “May I ask if you did this?”
Lu Fang smiles faintly. “Of course not. I’m your boyfriend. I’d only cheer you on while you blow up the building.”
Jiang Yue’nian: “???”
