Zhou Yinli was gentle and courteous, looking after him and saying that the Zhou family was sorry for what they'd done to him.

Lin Shutong took the opportunity to tell Zhou Yinli about all the grievances he'd suffered in the Zhou household that year, presenting himself as a weak, pitiful Omega.

The Enigma looked genuinely concerned, so Lin Shutong put on an even better performance, eventually pretending to be drunk so Zhou Yinli would take him home.

Lin Shutong considered himself quite the master schemer. After embellishing the story so much, Zhou Yinli was sure to feel terribly sorry for him, and Lin Shutong could get close to him with good reason.

What he didn't know was that the Enigma had seen through his intentions at their very first meeting.

Lin Shutong wasn't the only one plotting to get close to Zhou Yinli. Zhou Yinli was doing the same.

Later, news of his ex-husband honeymooning with his one true love played on TV.

But Lin Shutong was pinned against the soft sofa, the air filled with the mixed pheromones of rosemary and green plum wine.

Lin Shutong merely glanced at the screen, and the Enigma gripped his chin in displeasure. "Why are you staring at him? Do you still want to be my sister-in-law?"

Lin Shutong hurriedly wrapped his arms around the Enigma's neck and snuggled against him. "No... I'd rather be your sister-in-law's husband."

Before the wedding, his family had told him that Shen Rong wasn't keen on getting married.

Si Nian tentatively calls out to the man in front of him. "Shen Rong?"

The other man hesitates for two seconds before answering, "Yes."

Si Nian says with certainty, "You're not Shen Rong."

After a long silence, his husband lets out a slow breath and gently strokes Si Nian's cheek, as always. His voice is full of laughter. "Nian Nian, you're so clever. You figured it out in just a month."

Si Nian recoils in terror, but the man wraps an arm around his waist and pulls him close. "Careful. What if you fall?"

His wide, sightless eyes fill with unease and fear, and his body trembles. "W-who are you?"

"Your husband," the man says with a soft laugh, introducing himself. "Shen Su."

Si Nian's pupils contract sharply. He struggles to escape, but the man holds him even tighter. Shen Su's low voice sounds by his ear. "Baby, I've always been the one married to you. Shen Rong didn't like you. He ran away before the wedding."

After the shock, Si Nian stops struggling, like a doll who has lost consciousness, and lets Shen Su hold him in his arms.

Only after Shen Rong returns to the country and chats with Si Nian as if nothing happened, acting like a playboy, does Si Nian realize that Shen Rong doesn't even remember him.

That night, Shen Su holds him in his arms and has his way with him until he's completely spent. In a hoarse voice, Shen Su asks, "Nian Nian, do you still like him?"

Si Nian can't answer and only cries pitifully.

Shen Su bites his earlobe and begs in a soft voice, "Nian Nian, don't like him. Will you like me instead?"

Si Nian nods through his tears. From then on, whenever he says more than a couple of words to Shen Rong, Shen Su gets angry and pins him to the bed, having his way with him.

Shen Su whispers in his ear like a ghost, "Baby, don't pay attention to him anymore, okay? You're mine, mine alone..."
