It Has to Be You, Big Brother

Word spread that Lu Shao, the high school division's most popular student, had been cornered and confessed to outside the dormitory.

The whole school rushed over to watch.

A girl held out a bouquet of roses. "Lu Shao, I like you!"

The crowd's cheers rose in wave after wave.

Just then, a little boy rushed out from the crowd and stood in front of Lu Shao.

Yu Jiushi was thin and pale, but anger flushed his cheeks and made his chest heave. He screamed, "He's my brother! Mine! He's mine alone!"

The whole crowd erupted in shock.

That night, Lu Shao hurried home and lifted the trembling blankets. Yu Jiushi was crying so weakly he could barely make a sound, his fever refusing to break.

Lu Shao held him close, heart aching. "Don't cry, Xiaoshi. Your brother will always be with you."

When he was five, Dad brought a boy home and told him, "This is my friend's son, Lu Shao. He's going to live with us from now on. You can call him big brother."

Yu Jiushi stared at Lu Shao's delicate, handsome features, and the medicine bag slipped from his hand onto the floor.

Eight-year-old Lu Shao walked over and knelt in front of him.

From then on, Lu Shao personally fed Yu Jiushi every dose of medicine.

You could always see scenes like this around the campus of No. 1 High School:

Yu Jiushi smiled as he licked his popsicle, while Lu Shao knelt on the ground to tie his shoelaces.

Yu Jiushi tripped while running, and Lu Shao carried him to and from school.

Even after Yu Jiushi moved into the dorms, Lu Shao would run over from another dormitory building just to do his laundry.

Everyone thought they were the best of brothers.

But no one could have imagined what would happen one stormy night years later.

Yu Jiushi lay in bed, his hair matted with sweat. He was almost passing out as he begged Lu Shao to stop.

Lu Shao bit his earlobe. "Call me big brother."

Yu Jiushi sobbed, "Big brother..."

"I was lying." Lu Shao chuckled, pulling him back to continue. "Calling me big brother won't make me stop either."

1. The top is a boy who was sent to live with someone else's family. He and the bottom grew up together, with no blood relation and no shared household registration.

2. The top is three years older: a sickly, possessive kitten x an icy, fatherly big brother.
