Rock singer Qi Shu unexpectedly inherits an old-fashioned paper effigy shop.
He thinks the scariest thing will be the paper effigies all over the place. Instead, the biggest inheritance bug is Bai Si, a dumb ghost who comes up with new ways to get himself killed every day and insists on murdering him.
Hanging himself, jumping into the river, wielding a chainsaw to imitate a slasher... His methods are absurdly low-rent, and they barely do any damage.
Qi Shu gets tired of his pathetic act and tosses him an iPad loaded with five hundred horror movies.
"Go study. Learn something more sophisticated."
From then on, Bai Si gets a brand-new daily routine. He works full-time cosplaying horror movie big shots, diligently studying how to kill people. He even has to give advance notice and show up right on time to "claim his life."
In Bai Si's mind, Qi Shu is his sworn enemy, the one he must kill to fulfill his obsession.
He has been trapped in the paper effigy shop for years, and revenge is his only reason to go on.
He's set his sights on the shop's new owner and never misses his daily assassination attempt.
Even though the man isn't afraid of ghosts or trying to avoid him, and even patiently coaches him in his horror performances, Bai Si's obsession remains at full strength. His earnestness is almost funny.
But after all that daily effort, he still hasn't gotten his revenge. Instead, Qi Shu is the one filling his thoughts.
Bai Si: Tomorrow I'll learn to crawl out of the TV like Sadako and kill you!
Qi Shu: We don't have a TV.
Bai Si: Buy one.
Bai Si: I'll recreate Sister Jia's iconic scene! I'll get in the shower with you!
Qi Shu: ?! You've been peeping at me in the shower?
-
One day, the kid next door enthusiastically invites Qi Shu to go swimming in the river.
Qi Shu: All right, I get it. You're cosplaying Miss Chu today, aren't you?
Bai Si: I don't know how to sing opera. When I come out of the water later, can you put on some background music for me?
Qi Shu: ...Fine.
And so the kid next door witnesses this scene: On the gloomy water's surface, a male ghost slowly reaches out his hand... while a ludicrously half-hearted ghostly wail drifts from somewhere nearby.
The kid cries. Qi Shu laughs. He's actually getting a taste of Bai Si's fun. But there's one thing he just can't understand.
Qi Shu: We have no grudge against each other, so why do you keep trying to kill me?
Bai Si: I don't know. Maybe you just look like you deserve to be killed?
Qi Shu: ????
Only after a heartfelt conversation does Qi Shu finally realize...
Damn! This idiot ghost has the wrong target. He's mistaken me for someone else!

1. One-on-one, mutually devoted, no split personalities.
2. The person the shou wants to kill isn't the gong. He's got the wrong person.
3. A pair of extremely unlucky sweethearts. Both have terrible luck, and their story has an absurd, darkly comic edge.
4. Supernatural folklore and mysticism take center stage, with a traditional Chinese folk paper effigy shop. The reading experience will vary from person to person. You might find it funny, or you might find it scary (?). Anyway, just enjoy it and don't take it too seriously.
5. The protagonists are not based on real people. All place names, magical arts, and mystical knowledge in the story are fictional. Please keep that in mind. Everything serves the plot, and the artistic embellishments are not to be imitated.
