People with savant syndrome often have an almost abnormal talent in a particular field. They might draw an entire city after seeing it once, or memorize the dates on a perpetual calendar with perfect accuracy, among many other things.
Lan Zhou has been extremely sensitive to numbers since childhood, making him a human calculator. But talent comes with difficulties, and sometimes Lan Zhou struggles to fit in socially and manage everyday life.
For instance, he's hopelessly clueless about romance. When an admirer flirts so hard her eyes nearly cramp, all he can do is kindly ask if she needs to go to the hospital.
Recently, Lan Zhou encountered a problem even a genius couldn't solve.
He discovered that whenever he touched his childhood friend Fei Xun, whose voice was clear and features striking, he seemed to see images in the other boy's mind.
At first, the two of them were playing games together in the bedroom. That was normal.
Then Fei Xun helped loosen the school tie hanging around his neck, which was in the way. Still normal.
After that, Fei Xun leaned over and pinned him to the floor... and tied his wrists?

The sky was clear, and Fei Xun still looked polite, gentle, and considerate as he smiled.

For example, the very first time he saw Lan Zhou as a child, he saw the moment in the future when they would be together.
Fei Xun does have one way of fitting in, though: Lan Zhou is loved by everyone, and he is no exception.
When summer vacation began, Fei Xun realized Lan Zhou was avoiding him. He cornered him, and before he'd said more than a few words, the other boy suddenly took his hand.
Then his face turned incredibly, ridiculously red.

In the sweltering summer heat, strange things kept happening.
First, Lan Zhou began dreaming repeatedly that Fei Xun would be in a car accident. Then a classmate mysteriously disappeared and returned with a completely different personality.
One day, Fei Xun, caught in a time loop, heard Lan Zhou tell him that the people who came back didn't seem to be human.
Fei Xun kept a straight face, but thought to himself: Is he talking about me?
