The Cage

Tang Chen was gloomy and unpopular, until the day he met Chi Ji. With a gentle expression, Chi Ji offered him a tissue, carrying the faint scent of tea.

Tang Chen couldn't help falling for him. At last, the gods had smiled on his miserable life.

Chi Ji always appeared right when Tang Chen needed him most. With Chi Ji around, nobody bullied him anymore, and his life gradually got back on track.

But later, Tang Chen began to discover Chi Ji's pathological need to control him.

"Who was that person you talked to today?"

"Did he touch your hand?"

"Why did you smile at someone else?"

A classmate who'd spoken with him the day before transferred classes the next day.

The thugs who used to lie in wait for him suddenly stopped showing up.

The teacher who'd groped him was disgraced...

Tang Chen finally saw Chi Ji's true face, and began planning his escape.

But wherever he ran, Chi Ji would appear, elegant and composed. Just like the first time they'd met, he smiled gently and said, "Darling, run faster. At this rate, I'll catch you."

Tang Chen fell to the ground. Through his blurred vision, he watched Chi Ji's footsteps draw closer. He couldn't get away.

Chi Ji picked up the man, who had passed out completely, and tenderly kissed the corner of his lips. "Darling, stop acting up. Let's go home."

Chi Ji, the pride of heaven.

He loved seeing himself fill Tang Chen's bright, shining eyes, but then someone else appeared in them.

He couldn't bear it. His gentle mask finally shattered, revealing the pathological obsession underneath.

He would lock Tang Chen away, where he could look at no one but him.
