Meiyu is a freak.
After the ship set sail, he suddenly asked me, "Do you know what it means when there's a sudden ice cream party on a cruise ship?"
"That I get to eat lots of ice cream?" I replied.
"It means someone's died on board," he said. "They need to clear out the freezer to store the body."
That night, the ship held an ice cream party. My classmates ate their fill in the lounge and on deck, but I wasn't in the mood. I just wanted to go back to my cabin and rest for a while.
I went down the stairs and ran into the class president, dragging a corpse.
...Is this a graduation trip or a murder party?!
At the time, I had no idea this was only the beginning of the never-ending nightmare I would face aboard this ship.
A City News: The Leviathan, a graduation-trip cruise ship carrying more than a hundred students, teachers, and crew members, mysteriously went missing after setting sail on Monday. Search-and-rescue teams later found it drifting off the shipping route, but everyone on board had vanished. The situation remains unexplained.
The Leviathan departed from A City on July 1, bound for Port B, where it was expected to arrive three days later. But just half a day after setting sail, it lost contact in a sea shrouded in dense fog.
The coast guard and maritime authorities found the Leviathan on the morning of July 5, drifting about thirty nautical miles off its planned route. Rescuers boarded the ship and confirmed that the hull was intact, with no obvious damage, and that the propulsion and navigation systems were functioning normally.
However, all the students, teachers, and crew members on board had disappeared. No one knows where they went.
Except me.
[Reading Tips]
1. The story is written in third person.
2. Includes, but is not limited to, standard horror tropes such as American-style gore, urban legends, the supernatural, monsters, and serial killers.
3. A time-loop story focused on traditional (?) horror.
4. There is no golden finger to speak of. I can only promise that the heroine will be alive when the story ends.
5. Not a leveling-up story or a wish-fulfillment novel.
