The story begins at an orphanage in London, England, called Wool's Orphanage. In 1926, London was often ravaged by war. The children at the orphanage went through days when they never knew if they would have another meal, but Mrs. Cole promised that once the year was over, they would finally have better days.
On December 31, the last day of the year, the children got to eat freshly baked cookies for the first time in ages.
Outside, an unprecedented winter storm raged. On the verge of death, a pregnant woman left the newborn twins she had just delivered at the orphanage door. The two babies were wrapped in a tattered coat. They neither cried nor fussed, but embraced each other in the bitter wind. On their backs, their mother had written their names in blood...
An older brother, a Dark Lord so wicked he nearly turns red.
A younger sister, a little lotus so pure she nearly turns black.
They have an unusual desire to control each other, but never cross the line. Their bond goes beyond love.
