The heroine is a wealthy beauty, a poor student, and gloriously oblivious. The main storyline is romance and travel abroad. This is not a story about a strong female lead or a powerful heroine. The hero is named Jiang Hang. He gradually goes off the deep end, getting crazier by the day, with increasingly elaborate bouts of madness in his head. He is constantly mocked by everyone around him. He is poorly socialized and rude. He is from Hong Kong, China, and immigrated overseas as a child. His Chinese is poor, and when he gets angry, he speaks his hometown dialect. The Cantonese passages were translated with help from a Hong Kong friend who also went abroad to study as a child. The author can't understand them, so whether or not they're authentic, they should suit the hero's character. 2. An urban fantasy romance. The fantasy elements are there to serve the romance. The story uses many real place names, but is mostly set in a fictionalized world. Its plot throws all kinds of elements into the mix, so expect an implausible, over-the-top ride.
