A Shonen Manga Heroine's Guide to Self-Preservation

Yue Mingzhu is the heroine of the hugely popular shonen manga "Beyond Superpowers."

She's the male lead's official love interest, the younger sister of the most handsome male character, and the object of the villainous second male lead's desire.

As the heroine entangled with three heartthrobs, she's nevertheless the least popular character, despised by the readers.

One day, Yue Mingzhu unexpectedly awakens and sees the readers' comments.

[Another day wishing the heroine would get killed off. What a stale character, and so stupid, too.]

[I seriously can't stand the heroine, that fake, self-righteous, holier-than-thou do-gooder. She can't help the male lead's career at all.]

[I'm picking up on something! The male lead only acts like he likes the heroine. He definitely wants to be with her brother and become a real family! The heroine's just there to get past the censors, right? You know what I mean.]

[The male lead goes so well with all the other female characters. Why can't he have a harem? I support the male lead collecting every girl except the heroine!]

[Question of the day: When will Yue Mingzhu, the biggest blunder in the whole manga, finally disappear?]

At the same time, Yue Mingzhu receives a notification from the manga's consciousness:

[Ding-dong! Because you've received a lot of negative reviews from the real world, if you can't quickly become more popular, the mangaka will write you off and erase you completely.]

[Host, please work hard to become more popular and stay alive.]

At this point, a crucial scene is about to unfold.

In the original story, the male lead begs Yue Mingzhu to steal her family's sacred artifact to save the third male lead.

Yue Mingzhu refuses, and while the two are struggling over it, the villainous second male lead arrives and gravely wounds her.

The male lead unexpectedly unleashes a burst of power and resonates with Yue Mingzhu's family heirloom.

The artifact chooses him as its master. He drives off the villain and goes on to become famous around the world.

Meanwhile, Yue Mingzhu brings shame upon her family's title of sacred maiden, the guardian of the artifact, and is cursed by the readers of the manga.

System: [Host, I've already figured out what you should do. Just support the male lead's career unconditionally here and hand over the artifact. The readers on the manga forum are sure to see you in a whole new light!]

Yue Mingzhu: Oh.

Instead, she knocks the male lead unconscious, claims the artifact for herself, and becomes much more powerful.

Then she pins the blame on the villain: He stole the artifact! QAQ

Yue Mingzhu: Keep the good stuff in the family. 030

What's the point of sucking up to the male lead's fans? What future does that offer?

If you're going to do it, become the strongest fighter. A tailor-made script for a beautiful, powerful, tragic heroine is already on its way.

"Beyond Superpowers" is a phenomenally popular shonen manga about an academy for people with superpowers.

One question has never stopped coming up on the forums:

Between Yue Mingzhu and Wu Sidao, who is the most popular character in the manga?

One is the beloved light in the hearts of everyone inside and outside the manga, hailed as the one pure white jasmine, a sacred maiden who saves all and radiates divinity.

The other is the manga's most beautiful, powerful, and tragic character, a devilishly charming witch who hides unwavering conviction beneath her carefree exterior.

Their fans argue endlessly, never reaching an agreement.

But on one point, they share the same opinion: Yue Mingzhu and Wu Sidao's popularity leaves every other character in the dust!

The days when three heartthrob men stood as equals are over.

Now it's a new era, with two heartthrob women facing off on opposite sides!

#Wake up, everyone, the times have changed#

Yue Mingzhu quietly remarks: The sacred maiden is just my disguise, and the witch is a secret identity I created myself.

I knew it. Who else could be the most popular woman but me?

Theme: Your fate is in your own hands.
