Antique Porcelain Restorer × Distinguished Young Master of the Capital
Possessive pursuit / He chases, she runs / The powerful one bows his head
Everyone in their circle knew that whatever the Jin family’s heir wanted, people would place it in his hands. That was, until he met Xu Youqing, the woman who wouldn’t even spare him a glance.
The sky was dark and overcast that day. After paying respects to her parents, Xu Youqing was heading down the mountain when a staff member told her to take a detour. Her childhood friend Han Zheng looked ready to argue, his face cold, but Xu Youqing stopped him. She knew all too well that these people were not to be crossed.
A car window by the roadside was halfway down. Dressed in black, Jin Zongmin sat inside, his stern features shrouded in shadow. He glanced up nonchalantly, his gaze fixed on the young woman in a simple dress, smiling faintly.
The girl tilted her head to speak to the man beside her. A shallow dimple appeared in her cheek, and her eyes seemed to glow.
That light made his heart itch.
He lifted his eyelids slightly. “Drive into that black Audi.”
-
Later, she “ran into” him time and again.
Everyone knew the Jin heir was cold and arrogant, and had never cared for anyone. Only Xu Youqing knew how impossible he was to shake.
“Xu Youqing.” He blocked her path, his thumb rubbing over the tense bone of her wrist. “Avoiding me?”
She stepped back half a pace, her back against the cold wall. “Mr. Jin, we’re not from the same world.”
Jin Zongmin chuckled softly, his hot breath brushing her earlobe. “Then how about I pave a road for you?”
It wasn’t until something happened to Han Zheng that she went to him for help.
On a stormy night, soaked to the skin, she pushed open his door.
Jin Zongmin stubbed out his cigarette. His gaze traveled inch by inch over Xu Youqing’s pale face, and he smiled gently. “So you’re willing to see me now?”
She stared at him without answering, her fingertips digging into her palm.
A jacket carrying the scent of pine wrapped around her trembling shoulders. He leaned down and drew her gently into his arms, his nose brushing the dampness atop her head. His deep, magnetic voice pressed slowly against her ear, coaxing her: “Break things off with him, and we can work anything out.”
-
Later still, Xu Youqing was volunteering in a mountainous region.
Everyone heard that the usually gentle Teacher Xu had actually slapped Mr. Jin when he came to make a donation.
No one understood why, until Jin Zongmin staked his life for Xu Youqing.
Everyone knew he was mad, but he bowed only to her.
Reading Guide:
1. Both leads are each other’s first and only, happy ending
2. Seven-year age gap. The hero is no saint, but he has kept himself to himself
3. Old-school melodrama, bittersweet sweetness, and a high-and-mighty man thoroughly brought to heel
4. The characters, locations, and setting are entirely fictional. Please don’t connect them to real life. The hero commits no crimes; this is simply a story of love, hate, and emotional push and pull

Resourceful, resilient heroine × Delusional, unhinged hero
Possessive pursuit / Almost-siblings
Mention the Luo family’s heir in their circle, and everyone lowers their voice. Yet this formidable man was drenched in wine by the newly returned “little sister” he had just brought home.
The day Liang Yixue was taken into the Luo family, a blizzard swept across western Beijing. In the main hall, Luo Mingting leaned back in a huanghuali horseshoe-back chair, looking almost gentle. But when he lifted his eyes, Liang Yixue’s heart sank.
Everyone thought Luo Mingting despised his new little sister.
-
At a party, someone cornered Liang Yixue and spoke to her lewdly. “What are you pretending for? Didn’t your mother teach you how to handle men?”
Before the surrounding snickers could fade, a champagne glass came crashing down from the second floor. It grazed the man’s ear and shattered against the wall.
Everyone looked up in alarm. Luo Mingting leaned lazily against the railing, half his body concealed in shadow. He gazed down at them, an icy menace radiating from him.
Liang Yixue stood frozen, her palms slick with sweat. She couldn’t tell whether he was helping her or making some other kind of declaration.
Water streamed down the car windows. Luo Mingting trapped Liang Yixue in the back seat, winding a lock of her hair around his finger. “When you need something, you call me ‘Brother.’ When you don’t, I’m just Luo Mingting… Liang Yixue, you sure know how to make use of me.”
He gave a laugh, but there was no warmth in his eyes. His fingers slid slowly to the back of her neck and tightened slightly. “But I heard… my little sister has other ‘big brothers’ out there?”
Liang Yixue’s lashes trembled, but she said nothing.
Luo Mingting gripped her chin, a dark fire in his eyes. “Guess, who’ll see him first, me or you?”
-
Liang Yixue only wanted to keep her head down in the Luo household for a year and leave when the time was up, but Luo Mingting refused to let her go. When another crisis hit her family and she had nowhere else to turn, she went to him for help.
A chill of night dew still clung to him, but his fingertips were scorching hot.
“Begging me?” He looked into her tear-damp eyes, his thumb slowly brushing her lips. “What are you offering in return?”
Liang Yixue’s lashes trembled violently. He suddenly laughed, bent down, and kissed her quivering lashes. His burning breath poured into her ear. “Liang Yixue, where do you think you can run?”
She didn’t answer. She simply raised a hand and pried his fingers off the back of her neck, one by one.
Luo Mingting lowered his eyes, watching her trembling fingertips. He didn’t loosen his grip or stop her, only laughed softly. “That’s all the strength you’ve got?”
Everyone else thought he had trapped this little snow sparrow.
But they didn’t know that it wasn’t her who was trapped. He was the one who never wanted to leave this snowbound world.
