Gentle yet stubborn x proud, sharp-tongued
Secret crush turns real / Reunion after years apart / Rekindled love
1. Years later, Fang Tang and Lu Zhao reunited at a law firm interview. Lu Zhao was the interviewer. He lowered his eyes to her file, his refined features cold and indifferent.
It turned out he was a partner at the firm. Fang Tang knew she had no chance. He didn't want to see her.
She left without waiting for the results.
Watching her retreating figure, he clenched his fist slightly.
2. In their second year of high school, Fang Tang met Lu Zhao for the third time. He was the son of one of her mother's friends.
He sat beside the desk. His profile was delicate and handsome, yet his whole being gave off an aloof air that warned people to keep their distance.
Pointing to the empty seat beside Lu Zhao, her friend called out to Fang Tang, “Hey, there's a seat here. Sit down!”
Lu Zhao turned to her friend. “Are you crazy?”
“But she's looking at you. Do you know each other?”
Lu Zhao said, “We don't...”
Yet in a corner, Lu Zhao impatiently handed Fang Tang a pink notebook. “You left your notes at my house.”
2. Lu Zhao was handsome, came from a good family, and consistently ranked first in his grade. He was a dazzling prodigy, while Fang Tang transferred in with grades at the bottom of the class.
Everyone at school knew that Lu Zhao and Fang Tang didn't get along. They both acted like the other wasn't there.
But at home, he would lightly tap her head and look at her gently. “Do you understand? If not, I'll explain it again.”
One day, after school, Fang Tang left with a boy riding a heavy motorcycle.
Her friend looked at Lu Zhao with a grin. “Heard the news? Our Fang Tang has a boyfriend.”
Lu Zhao's expression was indifferent. “Not interested.”
But on the way home, Lu Zhao cornered Fang Tang downstairs. “Fang Tang, did I ever say you could like someone else?”
3. Later, at their high school graduation reunion, Fang Tang got a phone call and hurried to leave, but Lu Zhao stopped her.
He lowered his eyes to her. “Don't go looking for him. I have something to tell you.”
That night, he stood in the night breeze for a long, long time...
After that, they had no further contact.
4. On a rainy night after they reunited, he could no longer hold back. He pulled her close and kissed her. His voice was hoarse. “Is this what you meant by never seeing me again?”
She didn't know that Lu Zhao had sent countless messages saying he missed her to the phone number she had long since stopped using.
