Novel blurb:
As a veteran pet-raising game player, Shendu Jiu has the supernatural ability [Nothing I Raise Ever Dies].
Its effect is to invigorate the life around him.
When he was young, he said with complete confidence during his new-hire introduction, "Nothing I raise ever dies."
Then the very next day, a coworker worked so hard that he dropped dead at his desk.
Shendu Jiu, who always leaves work on time, is utterly stunned.
"He died!"

As a pure-hearted bachelor well past his prime, Shendu Jiu is perfectly capable of raising his Xiumiao on his own.
Under the heavy, force-fed affection of his player dad, the black Xiumiao with its mangosteen-colored paws transforms from a gloomy kitten into a sunny, cheerful young man. It makes lots of animal friends and gets rounder all over.
He is so pleased that he solemnly declares on the forum, "Dating is out of the question. I'm going to spend my whole life with my baby."
Then the very next day, an online friend invites him to raise a baby together.
Shendu Jiu gets the friend's photo and his heart starts fluttering.
"You kissed me!"

It isn't until Dazai Osamu approaches Shendu Jiu that he realizes this guy isn't anything like the person he saw in another world.
What he saw: A gentle, doting novelist who changes the world with love.
What he's actually like: A brawler through and through, with the words tattooed on his face. One iron fist takes down everything!
He pretends to be a beginner. "This is my first time playing this kind of game. Could you teach me?"
Shendu Jiu: "Wow, perfect! Let's raise a Xiumiao together! It needs a mommy."
Dazai Osamu: "?"

Shendu Jiu finds love in a pet-raising game.
His wife is especially clingy. Not only do they raise a Xiumiao together, but she also sends him lots of pictures every day.
Finally, one day, he looks at a photo and recognizes the building.
Wait, why does that look more and more like my old workplace?
With his wife's encouragement, Shendu Jiu joins the company and is delighted to discover...
The boss is my wife?!
* Top, Shendu Jiu (player) x Boss Dazai
* The Dazai from the main world (Xiumiao) shares nothing but a funny father-son bond with him
* Apologies for the out-of-character portrayals
Theme: Life is empty and dull, but love changes everything
