The Air Smells Like Green Apples
The letters Malfoy sent always carried the scent of green apples and ink, as if he had just taken a crisp bite, the tartness and sweetness mingling in his mouth.
Yet this fresh, clean scent led him into a dizzying whirl of cloying entanglement. In a haze, he caught Celeste's lips between his, insisting to himself that he was fully aware of what he was doing.
There was no doubt about it. He could clearly feel the other person's icy skin, her scorching tears, and her struggles gradually easing. The space between James Potter's arms grew narrower and narrower. He held her tighter and tighter until she was trapped in his embrace, held against him.
We clearly can't live without each other, so don't say anything now... Her lips were caught in his, leaving her unable to speak. She didn't even know what she could say.
(The female lead transmigrates from the era of the children to that of their parents. She is Draco's younger sister. Gryffindor x Ravenclaw.)
James and Lily are not a couple in this story. Apologies for any out-of-character moments.
