Good news: I finally got together with the person I've had a crush on for two years.
Bad news: They always thought I was picking on them.
The wind at a Quidditch match is never gentle. It blows wildly, smacking the players hard in the face, but it also makes everyone's heart race and their expressions grow feverish.
"Bam!" A tremendous crack rang out, caused by the casual swing of a pretty young girl. She felt the sound merge with her heartbeat.
The Bludger's path changed with ease. It tore through the air, carried by the wind, and struck young James Potter with pinpoint accuracy.
The girl couldn't hear his pained cry. James clicked his tongue and frowned, his hair tousled by the wind. Almost without thinking, he flew straight toward her. The boy raised his bat and cleanly struck a ball. Ten more points to Gryffindor. It was probably a provocation: he quickly bent down and bit her lip, putting a little force into it.
"Ha, you really have been doing it on purpose all along, haven't you, Claire?" he said softly. It seemed he had more to say, but his words were swallowed by the wind. She didn't catch them.
Below them, the crowd roared.
And so, James Potter and Claire Tate's relationship was revealed during a Quidditch match.
