[This story is set against the backdrop of Greek mythology, but does not involve the original myths' plot. You can read it as an original work. All of my stories come from my own original character settings and have nothing to do with the original myths. Nothing to do with the original myths. Nothing to do with the original myths. Repeating it three times because it's important.]
[The Western fantasy setting may be difficult to understand. The author consulted many Western books before writing, and describes things according to her own style and writing ability. The whole story is written in plain, accessible language. If that bothers you, feel free to skip the author's works, since this is how all of them are written.]
Blurb:
Li Jia transmigrates into a book. She was reading Greek Mythology Stories right before going to sleep, but when she opens her eyes, she finds herself lying under a laurel tree. She forces herself to her feet and discovers that the Olympic Park is right across from her.
The System tells her that she had an underlying health condition, and dying in her sleep might not have been such a bad thing. But everything comes at a price.
Unlike other missions, she doesn't have to win over any men to stay alive. But after hearing the System's instructions, Li Jia breaks out in a cold sweat.
If she doesn't want to die, she has to protect Persephone and make sure she is born safely.
Persephone is the daughter of Demeter, goddess of the harvest, and Zeus, king of the gods. She is the goddess of spring and the future queen of the Underworld.
Hera, the most jealous and wicked woman in the myths, is bound to snuff out this "cuckold's child" in the cradle.
Just as Li Jia is at a loss, the System gives her two pieces of news.
Good news: Hera is still young and hasn't married Zeus yet.
Bad news: Her temper is as terrible as ever, and no one dares go anywhere near this goddess.
In short:
A goddess who is great at making money and her slacker sidekick o_o
Reader advisory:
1. Li Jia (older top) x Hera (younger bottom). This is purely my personal preference. I like younger tops.
2. Hera falls in love with Li Jia at first sight (a cute-girl enthusiast). The author isn't good at writing slow-burn romance. In all my stories, the top and bottom fall in love at first sight (love at first sight of beauty). Don't get hung up on why they suddenly fall in love. There's no reason for liking someone, so don't overthink it.
3. A mountain of original settings. I decide the gods' strength and their power rankings. I'm writing what I want to read and making food for myself. This is a silly, light novel with no literary merit. If you can't stand it, click the X and leave. Let's all get along.
4. In this story, all the gods are born individually, so there are no family relations among them.
5. Inspired by The Olympian Star Chronicles, but Hera barely appears in it, so the rest is all my original character setting.
Theme: Don't forget, you were the one who fell in love with me first.
