But the plot takes eighteen sharp turns. The conquest targets all awaken memories from previous routes, and after she narrowly survives their extreme acts of double suicide, the player of this otome game runs away!

Nakamori Akimi becomes the player's replacement, and her bitter medicine becomes the cure that wakes up the many out-of-character conquest targets.

Faced with all these wildly different victims, each of them so out of character that it's almost a genre of its own, Nakamori Akimi begins her moment in the acting spotlight.

You ask why she "poisons" Fuji?

Nakamori Akimi, who only wanted to give him an antidote, sobs dramatically. "I just love you too much, Shusuke! Once you drink this, we'll be together forever!"

You ask why she would recklessly drink Inui Juice?

Nakamori Akimi, who wants to bring Shiraishi back to normal, speaks with her dying breath. "You have to drink it, or I won't be able to rest in peace!"

In short, she goes to extraordinary lengths to get them all back to normal, to the point of seeming completely deranged.

As luck would have it, the game also has a main quest to conquer Atobe, with three choices a day that regularly leave her dying of embarrassment on the spot. But...

"Choose C. Go to the amusement park."

Atobe makes the choice for her. He's the first one to return to normal. As far as the others are concerned, they're co-conspirators.

So...

"Atobe, don't you think the mood is just right for us to do something?"

The wavering lamplight burns in her eyes. He falls silent for a moment, then chuckles.

"Nakamori Akimi, you've got quite a nerve."

Of course Nakamori Akimi has nerve. Otherwise, she could never have plucked this thorny rose from the mountain peak.

Much later, they make a bet.

"If you win, then this great me is yours."

Only an idiot would turn down such a tempting offer! Nakamori Akimi takes the bait at once.
