(You can check out my completed novel, "The Black-Bellied Crown Prince Heard My Thoughts"~)
This novel will now update every other day.
The crematorium arc has begun, and the blurb is being revised. It will also be updated as the story progresses~
Blurb:
The moment a new person appeared at Xie Mingyi's side, Jiang Xuhe knew it was time for him, the "best replacement," to leave the stage.
The newcomer was young, clever, and charming. Most importantly, he was more like "that person" than Jiang Xuhe was.
Jiang Xuhe knew better than anyone that he was merely Xie Mingyi's second choice, the consolation prize after the unattainable moon high in the sky.
The person he loved belonged to someone else. It had never been him.
But Xie Mingyi had saved his mother's life. It was a debt of gratitude he could never repay.
So he willingly played his part, swallowing all the bitterness and using the most perfect smile and tenderness to dress up this grand performance called love.
If nothing unexpected happened, he would play his role professionally until the day Xie Mingyi called "Cut."
But the newcomer had arrived. Why should Jiang Xuhe stay and get in the way?
Jiang Xuhe packed up seven years of youth and a heart that had died long ago on a snowy night, ready to take his final bow.
This time, he was the one who wanted to leave.
So why was Xie Mingyi grabbing his hand with bloodshot eyes, begging him not to go?
Xie Mingyi didn't know that Jiang Xuhe had long since figured out he was a replacement.
He didn't know that the senior he secretly cherished as his moonlight was Jiang Xuhe's cousin, someone Jiang Xuhe had never mentioned.
He didn't know that when he crossed oceans to celebrate his senior's birthday, the call he casually hung up on was the only plea for help Jiang Xuhe had ever made.
He knew even less that he had fallen in love with Jiang Xuhe long ago.
After finally recognizing his own feelings, he meticulously planned a grand proposal.
But when he knelt on one knee amid the teasing cheers of friends and family, full of anticipation and certain he would receive a delighted yes, and that they could spend the rest of their lives sharing meals and seasons together, he instead received the most devastating rejection of his life.
"I'm sorry, Mingyi. I think it's better if we go our separate ways."
Jiang Xuhe looked down at him, his eyes full of indifference.
Xie Mingyi resolved to change. He wanted to prove to Jiang Xuhe that he wasn't the awful person Jiang Xuhe had called "incapable of love."
He humbled himself and did what ordinary people did: sent out resumes, looked for work, and started at the bottom, working diligently to earn enough for three meals a day...
Sometimes, passing through a subway station and seeing a huge poster of Jiang Xuhe, he would feel as though he were living in another lifetime: just one insignificant person among countless others, forced to look up at the man he had once loved.
He thought he had worked hard enough.
So one day, when Jiang Xuhe called, he was overjoyed. He thought he had finally paid for his sins.
But he dressed carefully and hurried to the meeting, only to find someone other than the person he had expected.
The person waiting for him smiled. "Alex, long time no see."
A dizzy spell unlike anything he had ever experienced hit Xie Mingyi, and then a wave of terror rose in his heart.
Someone, please tell him: why was his senior here?
(A powerful family heir who doesn't realize he's in love with the receiver × an award-winning actor whose heart is closed after being hurt in love)
A clichéd crematorium-style pursuit story: the substitute receiver leaves in sorrow, and the pursuer only learns to treasure him after losing him. Enjoy~
Reading guide:
1. Happy ending, no change of pursuer.
2. The author has a strong aversion to infidelity. All main characters in my stories are faithful to each other, and there will be no cheating.
3. This is a slow-burn story.
A preview of my upcoming novel
"My Ex-Boyfriend the Fake Medium Is Scamming People Again"
Also known as "After I Died, I Got a Happy Ending with My Ex"
[Blurb One]
Meng Chijun is a fake medium, the kind who inherited the trade from his ancestors.
Today, dressed in a bright yellow ritual robe, he stands beside a variety show host with an otherworldly air. He listens as the host introduces him as the nineteenth-generation direct disciple of the Shangqing sect, making him sound like a sage who has left the world behind.
Faced with a malicious infant spirit, he stays calm and seals it with a single sword stroke. Then, on camera, he explains why the client's house is haunted by ghostly wailing in the middle of the night: "It's the sound of air currents caused by the building's height. I recommend improving the soundproofing."
When he sees a vengeful spirit on an ancient battlefield, he remains unruffled and guides it to the afterlife. Then, with the host looking stiff beside him, he solemnly makes up a story: "This place is probably an iron mine. It's like a natural recorder, capturing the sounds of ancient armies on the march. That's why passersby sometimes hear the sounds of battle."
After filming a few episodes of the show, he has accumulated plenty of merit, and gotten ever better at lying through his teeth.
He is steadfast and unstoppable, seemingly immune to anything or anyone that might shake his resolve.
That is, until news comes of Ji Xianqing's death.
In Meng Chijun's little corner of the world, the skies suddenly change.
[Blurb Two]
Ji Xianqing died.
The day after his death.
His former boyfriend, eyes bloodshot, showed up at the door. Ignoring Ji's family's objections, he forcibly took away the body. "I can bring him back to life."
Picking up a finger that had fallen to the ground, Ji Xianqing tenderly blew the dust off it, then glared furiously. "You said you'd bring me back to life! How does this count as bringing me back to life?!"
Meng Chijun carefully used superglue to reattach the finger, then tenderly kissed his lover's pale, swollen face. "Be good. Just wait a little longer."
I will search the heavens above and the underworld below. Even if I am reduced to ashes, I will bring you back.
Theme: Break free from the shackles, turn your heart toward the light, and find redemption through hard work.
Dad, are you okay now?
