Blurb:
While in college, Gu Jitong stayed with the Xie family. After seeing Xie Hansheng only twice, she set her sights on him.
On a scorching day, Xie Hansheng came out of the bathroom after a shower and saw the young woman sitting on the bed in his room, legs dangling, her gaze burning with desire. He took two deep breaths in a row.
That summer was brief and reckless.
At the start of her senior year, Xie Hansheng went to pick up his girlfriend from school, only to see her laughing and chatting with another guy. He stayed in the car and didn’t get out.
A few days later, Gu Jitong learned that he had come looking for her. She sent him an apology, tactfully saying that she had already forgotten what happened before and hoped he wouldn’t bring it up again.
Xie Hansheng read those two short lines more than ten times before, jaw clenched, replying, “It’s fine. Nothing happened anyway.”
Three years later, Gu Jitong returned from England and ran into Xie Hansheng by chance. In front of other people, each of them acted like a stranger even better than the other.
One afternoon, while entertaining clients at a golf course, he came across her on a blind date.
Mr. Xie walked over. The southwestern wind blew into his eyes, and he asked coldly, “Getting married?”
“Yeah. My family is rushing me, so I’m going to give him a try.” Gu Jitong lowered her chin, afraid to look at him.
Xie Hansheng took off his glove and tossed it on the table. “Then why not give me a try? Am I not attractive enough now that I’m older?”
Gu Jitong explained cautiously, “Because... I’m only giving it a try. Even if we get married, we might still get divorced...”
“Does that matter?” Xie Hansheng gave a self-mocking smile. “Have you never abandoned me before?”

Xie Hansheng had long known that the second daughter of the Gu family was fickle, always chasing after the new and shiny. What she was best at was sweet-talking him, lying to him, and making excuses. He warned himself again and again that the next time he saw her, he absolutely must not go running back to her.
Yet time and again, he lost himself in her ill-intentioned kisses.
He knew he simply couldn’t resist.
Notes:
1. Both leads are sexually inexperienced, happy ending.
2. The male lead is seven years older. The female lead is not perfect, so don’t read if that bothers you.
3. The blurb leaves out a lot of context and background. Don’t read too much into it.
