[Blurb]
Wang Yuanshan had a secret, one about his younger sister.
He had carried that secret for eight years.
On the strength of a casual invitation, Wang Yuanshan and Lin Du, his junior from the police academy, went together to the mountain village where he had grown up.
When Wang Yuanshan's younger sister was little, Uncle Tian, their neighbor, found her by a field ridge.
She had a copper longevity pendant on her, engraved with her birth date.
His sister was named Tian Chunhua. The village's most learned person, the headman, had chosen the name. Chunhua meant spring splendor, while autumn harvests were nature's gift and a symbol of endless growth.
Chunhua. What a lovely name.
But when Chunhua was six, she was diagnosed with an intellectual disability present from birth.
Uncle Tian said it was all right.
Even Wang Yuanshan had thumped his chest and promised, "I'll protect her from now on!"
But that promise was shattered on the eve of Chunhua's fourteenth birthday.
So was Chunhua's favorite floral dress.

Eight years. A full eight years. Wang Yuanshan couldn't wait any longer. He had to fulfill his promise.
Even if it cost him everything...
This time, he would make sure the wicked were brought to justice!
