Blurb:
In 1933, when I was just beginning to make a name for myself at the Tianxian Tower, I met him.
The first time I saw him, I dropped my pipa.
He didn't get angry.
People said he was hot-tempered and killed without blinking, but what I saw seemed different.
He said gently, "Dai Zongxing. That's my name."
He smiled and asked, "Will you remember it?"
Later, everyone in the city knew that the commander's car always stopped outside the Tianxian Tower.
The pipa he gave me was made by a master craftsman.
The brocade qipao he gave me filled my carved wardrobe.
All so he could hear me play the "Ru Meng Ling" I'd composed for him.
I thought he would hear me play "Ru Meng Ling" to the end.
I never imagined that would become an impossible dream.
A gunshot shattered the peace of the little town.
It also doomed him and me.
One song of "Ru Meng Ling" cannot express all the longing in my heart.
Dai Zongxing, I have remembered your name.
