Ye Huaizhi's grandfather was the Emperor's tutor, but she had no interest in writing or calligraphy. Since childhood, she had loved swords, spears, and other weapons, and enjoyed listening to tales of the martial world. She yearned to live like a chivalrous hero, punishing evil and championing good.
At last, when she was fifteen, she ran away with Jing Rong, the household servant she was closest to, and traveled a thousand miles to the Qingshan Sect to study martial arts. From then on, she roamed the martial world, living in her dream of chivalry for the next ten years.
"Beautiful moon, bear witness for me. I shall drift forth carrying Heaven's will. No matter how much dust or how many storms lie ahead, I will tread the miles beneath the clouds, with no regrets, even in death!"
"May you cross a thousand sails and awaken from your dream of yellow millet, your heart unchanged, just as it always was."
Theme: Only firsthand experience reveals the true depth of things.
